I think John MUST now acknowledge that the E36 bay em vay is the spiritual successor to the Esquirt, not that pos xr thing or the Swedish main battle tank.

So, what you are saying is, we have FWD Escort with RWD Escort bits, RWD Escort with E30/36 bits... so now to complete the circle we need to hull out a BMW and stick FWD Escort bits underneath.

I know just where to find the donor, too! There's a guy on the GRM forum who is putting a 4.6 DOHC from a Continental under the back of an early 80's Escort.
