http://merkursport.com/index.php?showtopic=24068&st=20&p=371399&#entry371399

oh shit you have to register to see it.

Here's the whole thang including phone. Call him now.
Going to be getting rid of my track car project. I simply won't have the time to finish it in the forseeable future and will lose storage for it soon.

87 comp shell, black, interior has been de-tabbed, justa bout all of the seam sealer has been stripped, the headlight buckets have been removed for euro lights, tailight bulkheads cut for cossie tails, some underbody stripped. adjustable rear spring perches welded in. The car has been cut for big rear windows, I have lexan ones for it. not looking for much, like a couple hundred bucks. I just really would hate to send it to the scrapper since it is VERY rust free. originally a florida car. Could be a great starting point for a cossie project

I'll go throught the rest of the parts tmrw, some brake stuff, steering columns, gauges, tailights, etc. some of it will go with the car.

located in CT. 860-617-two zero zero three. text for pictures.

Paint flaking off isn't rust. Big bubbles or holes, that's rust! smiling smiley

Five bucks says the Volvo is less rusty than the XR shell.

This makes up for a lot of rust:

I know carbs rea well..
Ok Sherman, let's set the Way Back Machine for 1967. The place: Torino, Italia. Now sherman we are going to look at the motor designed by Alfredo Lampredi, the great Fiat Twin Cam, the first mass produced motor with toothed rubber belt drive....
Now this one is a 1600cc motor and the Italians mount a pair of nice Weber DCOE 40s for the street version..
Now over here we see what is called a "Rallye" car and on this one we see a couple of things different but for today the important thing is they used 2 x Weber DCOE 45s with 34mm venturis...

And over there getting worked on by 12 mechanics is a "roadrace" Fiat 1600 and for roadrace we see 2 x 48 DCOEs...

What have we learned today, Sherman?

"Golly Mr Peabody it sure seems awfully small to have those little 40s on a motor 500cc larger, why thats nearly 30% of 1600! Why would they do that?"

That Sherman is the question.

Join us again next time when we get the answer to "A Lot to do about nothing" or "Who let the dogs out?"

the xr is gone (as of today) above, but he did lead me to another guy. He has some ford motorsport cossie roller. Seems to me I may be getting a little too expensive again. Need to back it down, he is emailing me pics.

Yeah, in that case. Volvo is where its at. It would take a lot to make that cage meet new regulations if I ever wanted to do stage stuff. He wants 2k for it alone. I could cage a shell for almost half that and meet regulation.

It does have the "cool" factor however.
