Here's a crazy thought John - can we get some tube and rebuild that part of the insert with new stuff? Or is that just crazy talk?

I have some shocks just for that but those rears of yours are unusually long..
Do this: measure the body length up to--more or less, the weld for the top pin I welded on..

I'm in agreement w/Brian - although in the rain it had its rally style moments of sideways-ness.

Matthieu did apologize - and I am certain it was a case of bad tires and bad judgement. I was nursing my clutch as it was slipping really badly - so watching for cars needing to pass. Lots of them did. I had just let this guy pass as well, but he went super wide on the next turn, so I held my line and went by him. My brakes and tires were working surprisingly well in the wet - in fact the car was turning in well and generally was easy to drive. If you watch the video, it looks to me like he was sliding 3/4 of the way down that entry straight. My opinion is that he came in faster than he normally would and applied braking later than he normally would and found himself in trouble - rookie mistake.

If I was running a Subaru - where you just bolt shit on - eh, it would suck, but a fairly quick fix.

As JVL mentioned - there's a lot of custom work in that car - its never an easy fix...and now I may be SOL until Bilstein comes up with some 50mm parts. I don't yet know if that shocker is bent, the lower bolt stretched through the ear holes, ears are toast, the knuckle twisted but didn't break, axle shaft toast, 3/4 panel and door.

I got really lucky in that Team Platto offered to help fix the car - if it were up to me, it wouldn't be ready for several months - time is at a premium right now. So the plan is to pickup a parts car this weekend - cut parts from it - transport to Quebec City 2nd week of May...

Most of what needs fixing is pretty easy, except for the boingers - we'll fix the ears, but if its bent - it'll need to go back to WA...next event is June 16th - if we can make it...

We had some good moments though in the 1.5 stages we ran:

Im glad to see that he apologised. And I think its even cooler that another team is willing to help you repair the car. Its nice to see teams pull together to help each other out.

I was up in Canadia this weekend grafting a quarter on the car...

Ears are wasted - these will be repaired here
Knuckle is twisted - already replaced, thankfully Team Platto has a pile of Coupe Quattro parts

hola senior (that should be read with a Spanish accent)

John - did that boinger get out into the post?

If not, I had a thought about the lower aluminum ring, for the spring height adjust. You know the one that is stuck - any chance you have one of those hanging around to put in the same box?

Thanks,

V-
