I have a backpack that I put underneath the spare tire before it gets racheted down. Jack... I don't remember how the jack was in the car. Shit. Been too long obviously.
My first rally car had an ammo box bolted to floor. Seen that a few times.

Really worked fine for what I needed. The only thing I could see doing differently would be to have the jack and impact wrench easily accessible to allow quicker tire changes.

Tools go into a canvas tool bag, and then strapped down behind the driver seat with some friction straps. Same for spill kit behind co-driver seat. Triangles and tow rope are held down by very small bungy cords wrapped tight and tied to either roll cage or seat mount. First Aid kit is screwed to the floor of the trunk of the car. Some prefer to use straps for the first aid kit so it can be removed easily, which doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Old Seat belts make fantastic methods to hold stuff down.

Really quick and easy to un do. Really quick and easy to snap together!

Whatever you do - make sure your jack is absolutely secure. In my thrid event we had a high speed roll and the jack we thought was secured left the car out the window behind my head. Could have been ugly.

Thanks. All good Ideas. Guess I'd better go buy some ratchet straps and tie down eyes.

we used a canvas bag for tools held down with a nylon strap, old seat belt for the spare tire, bungies for the triangles and spill kit and the quick fist things for the jack. Still trying to figure out what to do with the impact.

Out of curiousity, why not use your harness bar? Also, with a hans device, if you want to keep the belts that long, be sure to cross them!

I have a craftsmen nylon tool bag (think small, soft tool box) that I have bungeed to the back of the inner rear quarter panel. It's really secure now, but after I do some shakedown stuff, if it likes to move around, I'm going to use a ratchet strap. It's looped through the body, and then through the two grab handles on the bag, so it can't wiggle it's way out. I plan to use this for tools/small items like that. Spare tire is held by ratchet straps. I haven't figured out mounts for anything else, lol. Possibly velcro straps or bungees.

You can't see it in the photo but the downward angle ended up being to great. So we went back to the shock tower brace bar. And this photo was taken a while ago, we do have the harness belts crossed over now and some gussets welded into the X on the main hoop.

You can use the space under the spare for a tool bag etc. Although it makes it easier to change a flat if you don't need to deal with putting everything back in. Having different spaces for things is nice for that. I always thought this was a good solution for the impact.

For the jack, a decent solution is to weld a flat plate on the bottom, and have a slot that one corner can slide into. Then use a hood pin on another corner to secure it.

The bigger question is why are you carrying an impact gun in the first place.

I would consider an impact a luxury item so to speak. But having one is really nice, as long as the expense isn't stopping you from doing an event. And if you already have one, why wouldn't you want to carry it in the car? As long as its relatively easy to get out of the car, you can just grab it when you get into service. Plus they tend to be useful working on the car in the garage, especially if you don't already have a big compressor to run air tools.

What's wrong with carrying an impact? Far better than changing a tire on stage by hand.
