I always want to remove single cautions but never do. I'd say over half the time I'm not sure why they called it a caution. I always cross out anything in parentheses, and all things like "exposure".
I highlight just to create a picture. I've never had trouble getting lost but with a picture of the page, the subconscious mind will be on your side too.

from their web page:
Quote
STAGE 8 MAJOR OFF (WRECK) FLEW OFF OF A 100+ FT CLIFF INTO A TREE DUE TO AN ERROR IN NOTES AND HIT 3 TREES WHICH HELD US 15 FEET OFF OF THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF KEEPING US FROM TUMBLING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN

SATURDAY EVENING AFTER THE MAJOR OFF WE PURCHASED A DODGE NEON OFF OF CRAIGSLIST AND STRIPPED IT OVERNIGHT AND REBUILT OUR RALLY CAR OVERNIGHT AS GOOD AS ANY TEAM POSSIBLY COULD WITH ONLY 5 HOURS TO WORK

Sorry for the caps.. its like that on the site and I'm not awake or motivated enough to fix it yet this morning.

Yeah I do clean-up on notes as well. Mainly removing smcr at times.
Normally I'd say you'd be safe to remove smcr on Jemba that Pete has done. These notes (Pete/Bill Westrick) I removed far fewer after recce that I would have thought.

I'm not at the point where I can't highlight important stuff. I know WRC level guys don't do it, doesn't mean a guy on his first event shouldn't have any highlights though.
Agreed.

I do odd stuff too like if there is a ! at the end of a line, I'll put a ! at the start of the line.
Line and page breaks in Jemba notes have been universally brutal. If I thought I'd have had the time I'd have rewritten the notes into a clean (blank) book - which is now allowed by the rules. This way I could easily clean up language as well as make better page and line breaks.

Whatever they deleted was underlined with the L3+ though.
IIRC it was smcr 30 (50?) The run to the L3 was completely visible most drivers I know would have just given a distance to the L3.

The co-driver threw in the towel after this off and Wyatt is in for STPR so I hope it didn't turn him off from co-driving.
This was a tough tough tough stage. Super rough and some really quick sections for getting notes right. A narrow cattle grid with an exhaust sticking out of the midle made things interesting... What looked like a nice open field was littere with car destroying boulders so you didn't dare leave the road anywhere. Hopefullky the co-driver comes back.
