And she is easy on the eyes.....

But her press release was entertaining. With the split of the national and regional results, it kind of inflates the results. Not taking anything away from her, but for the masses that don't know, a 10th OA national finish is impressive.

Note to self. place extra shoe strings in mini parts/tool box next to zip ties and duct tape.

Yeah, do that because it's absolutely impossible to string a second throttle cable next to the first one, zip tie to original and have it ready just to swap ends when the bad thing happens, nope can't do that, nobody has ever even thought of that, so only thing to do is loose insane amouts of time playing with shoe laces.eye rolling smiley

It's actually not impossible at all. In fact it can be done even better than that with two throttle cables running parallel and both connected to the pedal and the throttle body so if one broke you would never even know it. Trouble is the pedal box and throttle cable are both completely custom and when we built the car in 6 weeks last year there was barely enough time to get the one done in the first place. Then the car sat for a year and I didn't to do any prep for it until a week or so before the rally and the throttle cable wasn't a concern. I do know why it failed and ow to fix it, though. The problem was the dumb way in which the cable attached to the pedal on the British pedal box. The cable went through a thick block which put a bending motion on the cable. The solution is to use a ball and socket pivot or some such at the pedal attachment point and a spare would probably never even be needed after that. It would be very easy to make another cable though and run dual cables all the time. The cable is made out of a shortened cruise control cable and there are two positions on the throttle body to connect to. A project to do before Olympus.

Also, that video above shows Hintz finishing the the stage he broke on with the hood open (it was almost at the end of the stage.) They then figured out how to route the bootlace through the hood vents so Dave could pull the cable with the hood closed and they beat 7 cars on the next stage!.

Exactly. Which is the better story? "I hopped out and reattached my spare throttle cable" or "I hopped out, took my lace out, tied it to the throttle body, ran it through the hood vent and STILL beat 7 people."

You're losing time either way...
