To all those with Suspension on order from JVAB
May 19, 2012 02:10PM
Boys, I have no been avoiding you all, I've been trying to get an answer for the question "Where is my stuff that I ordered as far back as late February?"

You all understand I want this stuff done and delivered every bit as much as you all do. I structure the deposits and payments such that I don't get anything till they're in a box ready to be sent. It's my way of cracking a whip on me to keep me moving...

The answer which finally, after nearly 2 months of emails, phone calls etc came yesterday is "they're out of the tube now and will be ready to ship 1st week in JULY.
(groan)

I understand what this means, you have deposits out but boys, please remember that you have your one project, I have maybe 16 just now and I have thousands wrapped up in very expensive Chrome Moly steel, machining, aluminum ($1100 of aluminum at very good price/pound), zinc plate, anodizing, seals, bump stops, springs....

I will do my absolute best to have everything else set up so when Bilstein sends the inserts, all we do is chop the tops and slide the buggers into waiting, pre-addressed boxes...

I apologize but truly this is out of my hands.

Oh and evidently Bilstein has decided on someplace to be the go-to guys for the long awaited 50mm stuff. Who that is, what conditions, what real lengths, valving etc is all unclear. I did suggest lengths that we know will work on FWD or AWD cars since their published stuff seems to bracket that and is either shorter than we can use with certainty or a smidge longer than seems 100%.

I am of course disappointed but it's back to the old original Plan A

Alex, I don't know what you are referring to.
"those" is kinda vague.
40mm Bilstein struts, 50mm Bilstein struts, Volvo steel flywheels?

All of "those' have been alluded to.

Bilstein guys are en route to Team O'Neil......i'd say that's where the 50's will end up

Had another call yesterday.
It was "spoken around" or alluded that there are all sorts of politics involved....and that everything is not yet carved in stone.

You'll need to call John and talk to him... that's just his way. He's a two finger typer, so emails and PMs and etc. aren't the most efficient ways to communicate about stuff that requires long discussion or lots of q&a. Besides, talking to John is never boring.
