Contour+. Just got it about two weeks ago. I'll have to check the mode when I get home from work - I fiddled with several by driving around with it in the street car and looking at the output, but don't remember what I finally went with.

I like the unit a lot. Near's I can tell the only drawback is that the audio only records in mono. On the ChaseCam I could record in stereo and have one track as car noises and one as the intercom feed, and then mix them in post-processing.

Here is our off. Yes, I know I blew the braking. Not sure what I was thinking...

Great stage, Michel. I can learn a lot from watching that. I loved my ONE pass through Grimes Creek and even caught and passed the car ahead.

Were you running new tires for this race?

No, I had new Yokohama hards, but after it started snowing on Sat we swapped to some worn soft Silverstones I had in the van. It turns out those where the tires that Dave White had on the car when he parked it in 2001, so I'm not sure how soft they actually were.

Play along with me here, Michel. The reason you were so fast was because you had new tires, right? Because the reason I am using for going off was worn tires and not driver error. winking smiley

Um, no, it was because my years of living in Santa Cruz being a CA tree-hugger gave me a rapport with the woods and I was able to convince them all to leap out of the way before I got there.

Oh, and they hate it when they get a car stuck in their crotch.

Dan, I didn't realize your hit was as bad as it was. I have video from when we went past and it didn't look that bad, but then that was only one side of the car. Thanks for running back and waving us to slow down. That would've been a nasty pileup otherwise.

No problem. I knew we were in a bad spot so as soon as I could I got out of the car and ran up the road. I wasn't able to grab a triangle fast enough so I just ran up the road and told Mike to grab them.

Grant, I think if the tree wasn't there we would have rolled it and been upside down in the water. It was only 2-3 feet deep but about 5-6 feet down. Apparently it was REALLY cold too.

No, one of a couple BSU students (what a great name for a school) who camped near us - happened to see it on facebook.
