I had a bitch of a time pulling the transmission out of my EGT, i hind site i may have saved some frustration (not time) by pulling the whole lump out of the car.

Jay, I have a good factory BPT flywheel sitting here. It already has the back rim machined off so it will bolt right on. You're welcome to borrow it for the rally or just get me another one to replace it.

Might be good to know why the former teeth are former teeth.

I went through my build thread. We had to put a sleeve on that end of the crank and had a machine shop mill out the pocket. How much you wanna bet they got that bit wrong? We're gonna trim the sleeve if at all possible (seems like if it was, we'd have done it that way in the first place but who knows) and hopefully sin no more. When's the next one, Oly? I am so so so so so there....

I'll be there as a volunteer. Didn't think I was gonna make it this year. Had a lot of fun the last time I went, hoping to again. I hope it's not as hot this time though.

I have gear I could loan to any Al Kun co-driver. I could drop it with Crane to be brought out to Idaho

hmm. We just looked at the car with it idling, and the wobble I wa seeing was just where the ring gear teeth are more eroded (however the FUCK that heppened) on one side than the other. Looking at the body of teh flywheel, i can't see the slightest motion. We even put a timing light on it and it shows rock steady. So.... we have a flywheel with damaged teeth, a starter making banging noises when you fire it up, but I think we're only risking not being able to start it if the starter dies, I don't think we're risking having the flywheel come off at 7 grand. Now, I pretty much figure it has to be outta balance, what with there being tooh material missing in an uneven fashiion but is that enough to not run it?

I'd love the opportunity, but I'm already committed to crewing for a couple of teams. Plus I have no gear. One week earlier and we'd be in business.
