It just up and died, right in the middle of a WOT straight and we grandly coasted to a stop. There it sat for 45 min, mocking our attempts to get it going again. Once it had its' fun and got bored, it fired back up and gave us no trouble at all for the rest of the rally. Never did figure that one out. I'm hoping that the demon was fully exorcised at Oregon Trail (big trees'll do that for ya) and the dirty sumbitch was unable to take up residence in the new car! Cuz this year I'm planning on splurging; new tires for both days, 'steada trying to make one set last the whole damn event. Aw-yeah... Adam- yeah I got your message beat me at doo wops for it....I would love to battle with someone this year.....I don't see Jim Thompson on the list, he and I were near each other's times at oregon trail and at doo wops, I just want to go after someone, we have more fun that way.
Jay- you never know, my service guys are pretty shifty, not ssure if they are smart enough to figure out a 45 min delay on stage though....remote control? I can't wait, car should be done with all of the Major work today! -Tom DemonRallyTeam | Fine Tuning | CTS Turbo & RP Turbos | RalleyTuned | JRM | Meister Autowerks Spitfire EFI | Product Apparel | JVAB Imports | NLS | AP Tuning | USRT Add us on Facebook | Next Event: 2013 Olympus Rally June 22-23 Olympia, WA |

Tom,
Damn, Your car must be really happy to be piping up like that.. ![]() We'll be showing up, but not for a whooping.. The car is on the way to be tuned at the moment, and will finally be in a happy state of running out of poop loop for once in a long while. Looking forward to running the GC8 on those roads, as last year was a mess in someone else's DSM. Shooting for the podium, but who knows how things will shake out, lots of hotshoes on the entry list. At least one sub 7 Brooklyn run. Plan to be dicing it up with Jay (congrats on having Kathryn in the car), Hintz's, Cavett, Eklund, Gabe V, and Mager. Jardevall will be there in his new ride, lookout! Can't wait to get the season started. Rally On! B- Build the car, race the car, crash the car, fix the car..Repeat |

Yeah, Derek is a pretty cool guy and he certainly knows about building cars, we certainly don't have anything that quick. Last time I saw Arychuk out at OT he wasn't very fast, but he had just started I believe, looks like he had improved alot by the end of the season. Haven't raced with Barnes or Edwards yet, Just looking forward to going out and having a great event again, fighting for some good times in G2...I have been making some small preperations for the past month or so, but nothing that will make us faster for this year, just more reliable and consistent

Tom let me introduce you to Mr. Hartman. Now it has been a long time since Mr. Harman has graced the stage with is fine VW steed but when he did - well lets just say he is one very fast mother. I predict he will be by far the fastest 2wd car at the event, more than 20 seconds a stage faster than the next fastest 2wd car. Then again it has been years since he has run so he may be off his game. But 230HP with a six speed dog box in a min weight Mk2 with the proper Proflex stuff, selholm bits tossed in where they are needed...
In the long run reality always wins. |

I saw his name on the list last night....and needless to say my hopes to win Group 2 have been diminished significantly....He lives right near my place, so I may have to do some creative sabbotage.
Sheeeeeiittt, we'll still go out and throttle those with a broke man's budget like myself! Another year or three and we'll be able to challenge the big boys. -Tom DemonRallyTeam | Fine Tuning | CTS Turbo & RP Turbos | RalleyTuned | JRM | Meister Autowerks Spitfire EFI | Product Apparel | JVAB Imports | NLS | AP Tuning | USRT Add us on Facebook | Next Event: 2013 Olympus Rally June 22-23 Olympia, WA |

Then again I was thinking it would be years before I could keep up with him, after I built my second golf we finished 4 seconds behind him at the end of the whole OR Trails rally...
Who knows, good luck and show them what you got. Derek In the long run reality always wins. |

I think Hartman and Burress will have a good battle. I think Adam will surprise some people, as he's had more time to develop the car--and will benefit greatly with increased seat time.
I think Mark Tabor may be the quickest 2WD even in production, is familiar with the stages. Probably top 3. If Derek shows up (not on entry list) will be the car to beat. Its my favorite rally so I'd love to come on out and dice it up, but we're going to be competing at 100 Acre Wood instead. |

That's funny. I always tell friends here in Colorado that they should be driving the extra 200 miles each way to do Doo Wops instead of 100 Acre Woods. That's typically just based on the historically much, much cheaper entry fee. Of course, it is a much more potentially treacherous tow with mountains and Wyoming to deal with.

I was wondering why I didn't see you on there Kris....oh well, I'll have to catch up with you somewhere else, good luck at 100AW.
I think we are going to have a hard time keeping up with Hartmann....an even harder time if Derek shows up, bah I just want to go chase somebody in the woods who am I kidding? -Tom DemonRallyTeam | Fine Tuning | CTS Turbo & RP Turbos | RalleyTuned | JRM | Meister Autowerks Spitfire EFI | Product Apparel | JVAB Imports | NLS | AP Tuning | USRT Add us on Facebook | Next Event: 2013 Olympus Rally June 22-23 Olympia, WA |
