Wow, how does he manage to survive with society all out to get him like that eye rolling smiley

My favorite bit is "...... and his skills are honed", just how do you hone your "mad rally skillz" without a license for 5 years?

has fast stage times in DiRT3

Doesn't matter. But what about Richard Burns Rally?

I've been told by more than one person that the thing they learned that's helped them the most from RBR is how to crash better/softer/safer/etc

don't see where $40k went into that car, unless it's for all the drugs he did brainstorming the build.

40k is probably including the car and all the interest... If he has a bad credit score he could be real close to that number without even counting the "mods"

How did that guy get into that interview?

It reads like he wrote it himself in the third person. Pretty much 100% sure that is what it is.

With spelling errors and all.

Meh, I wouldn't hold that against him. Does "PR" mean "Press Release"... or "Public Relations"? If considering the latter, than nearly all of the content you see out there is almost entirely self promoting.

Anders

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

Yeah really, a little PR for immediate release (oooooH ahhhhh! eeeew I got some on me...) and a few minor spelling errors kinda pales next to torturing and killing animals, felony firearms posession, embezzelment, larceny greater than 20,000, conspiracy to larceny over 20,000 amirite?

I'm a bit tired of people exploiting Matt in their PR. I think some people are crossing the line with respectful use of his name. This guy is an example of one of those people trying to exploit his death for their own benefit. If I start seeing press releases for him on something like Rally-America's website, I'm going to actually contact them to take it down.

His whole kickstarter or whatever it's called is a video pretty much showing video of Matt running and then talking about how he helped work on his car so you should give him $15,000 to full fund his rally budget. He's putting in a 300hp NA motor into the car and didn't even have a cage? I don't see where $40k went into that car, unless it's for all the drugs he did brainstorming the build.

I'm sure there are hundreds of people that want his custom etched Oakley glasses too... /facepalm.

Agreed absolutely and unequivocally.

What I would like to see is a 300 hp NA KIA motor period. Does such a thing even exist? Maybe with a Delta, if you got real fancy, but I have never seen one in that chassis.

Anyone can build a race motor for any car. Maybe that's where his $40,000 went? Fuck, I forget what Lurch's Mazda Protege motor was making for power. But last I remember he had a shop building it that build the Speed World Challenge car motors that were making 300hp back then.

BTW

Hi Guys ,
I've been lurking around on the forums for a good 10 months. I figured it was time to actually say hello and introduce myself.
My name is Christian I'm from Ecuador but now living in California for 5 years (sorry for my bad English)
I’m no new in this sport I used to race in my country but as you guys know once you are in this sport you can’t leave it so I decided start building a rally car again.

Jhon is building the suspension for my Suzuki and I hope the car is ready at the end of the year. I will start my own build thread with the progress of my car.

Cheers, Christian

Hi Chritian, are you ready to make the towers in the back? I have photos of that rear stuff but haven't download/upload them yet to show you total length, but it's going to be longer by make 100mm..
Not to readers: Poor Chris has the weirdest rear fitment I've seen Kinda like a shock clamped into the forging for the rear spindle and stick thru and hanging below the forging about 65mm, so the lower part of the shock is maybe the lowest thing on the car....just waiting to get murdered by rocks.
And spring separate and short, so this is a case of mod the bodyshell once, and solve several problems at once time.

I'm sure we'll have some photos of the process...
