Priorities in life are in order I see.

Hope that money in the car is equal to the amount he is putting into his kids education fund....

I can hardly restrain myself from posting that all over the interwebs and making fun of the guy, but luckily, so few people will see that garbage to begin with, I don't want anymore than necessary to see it.

It's sad actually. And its so predictable for some. No restrain. Excuses "We all make mistakes...." What costs loss of driver's license for 7 years?

I saw virtually ever single guy I know who was pursuing moto-cross seriously, as in to the level you get paid enough to live on and fund the racing, every one except 2: ruin every relationship they had with friends, teams , wives/girlfriends, mechanics...every one to a greater or lesser degree.
Including me..
And whooopee, I got to do it for 2 years. Sure I met a lotta good people, and an amazing array of cutie pies oi oi oi!
But so did guys who held back and stayed local and had sense to keep it as a hobby/passtime---not that they were slow, or lazy..
They just had a better all round balance in life between work and relaxation and play.

How dis this person not get the intervention and advice he obviously needs.

I mean fawk the "Sponsorship opportunity" guys, one rally in a stockish Fucked-us, one in a Fiesta, they're silly.
This guy is something different.
This guy is the Kevin the King of Pikes Peak Rollcages in some bizzarro world.
Fuck.

while skimming around specialstage I found the "sponsorship opportunity" fiesta for sale $30K

Well, if you figure that a new Fiesta is $15K and then he had the shell prepped and the cage built at O'Neil's and a big name shop like that probably charges about $10K just to *look* at the car (I'm guessing here), and then add another few grand for the seats and "full suspension" and other gear, I can see how he might have $30K into it that he'd want to recoup.

Of course, he's forgetting the "$1.00 in, 50c out" rule of rallycars. I'd give him $15K for it though - assuming I wanted it, which I don't.

And yeah, there'll always be knuckleheads out there. From the guys who spend half a decade building and bragging about "the perfect rallycar", and completely ignoring everyone who tells them they're likely to wad it within the first six events, to the guys who go after lots of sponsorship dollars, only to find their sponsors wandering away after they discover that their team is slower than a sloth.

Sometimes people listen, sometime they don't.

To end on a positive note, the guys who do listen and you can watch them go out and get faster and faster make the whole thing worthwhile.

I actually feel bad for the Kia guy kinda. Looks like he's been volunteering at sno*drift for a long time, which for how short we are of volunteers I wouldnt want to turn anyone off to it.

But what I can't understand is.... he's been there he's seen cars for under 10k ON stage, if racing was the dream and not driving a KIA you can do it much cheaper. You look at pics of the car, he has everything anodized, painted etc in the engine bay.... like ricer show car stuff. Wtf why? Aside from the top people everyones engine bay looks the same... dirty.

The whole license thing doesnt make any sense why are you going to spend money....battle in court to get your license back when you're serving year 5 of your sentence. Would you uhh save that money, put a cage in the car so the car is ready to go as soon as you get your license back?

Looking through his extensive court history, it seems the charges for driving on a suspended license come shortly after the OWI & Fleeing a police officer.

Also remember, his brother was selling basically a bone stock Focus for $15,000. They seem to forget about the 50% return rules on building a car.

I don't feel bad for him at all. He lost his license 5 years ago, and he has a 4 year and and several month old kid. Talk about mistakes? How about, if you get your license suspended don't go popping out a kid. Then you say "Man this sucks, I can't drive them anywhere... LET'S MAKE ANOTHER BABY!".

I give zero fucks for stupidity. I don't get how this guy can spend $40,000 on a KIA and still need $15,000 to get on stage. He could have easily spent the $40,000 to get his license back, spent far less building a car and be able to drive his kids around when they're fussy and his wife doesn't want to.

Okay, so how the fuck can you spend $40k on a Kia and not have it stage ready? Is that guy fucking retarded? I could get like 2 Xrattys for that. Caged, prepped, ready. Maybe. If not then at least one amazing one. He must be fucking retarded if he ignores good advice. I've done that, but I've at least learned from my mistake.
"Dude, sell that worthless piece of shit Kia and at least move up to a Hyundai or something. Shit. You're embarrassing us." "Nuh uh guys! Fuck you! I know better than you guys with your adequate cars and your fancy learnin' brains!"

Plus he's "fighting the world" every year for something that he just has to wait 5 years for and then pop like $16 for a new licence.

Sounds like me when I was 17. If this guys is as stupid as I was when I was 17 ("holy shit" is a good way to describe it) then go ahead and just shoot him in the face. He's not fit to have a family.

Something about something....dirt.

He doesn't sound like the "image" that RA wants to portray. I think he would be more at home on Montell. Probably missed being on Teen Mom by a few years.
