I have a combat lifesaver kit i have considered planting in my car. My wife was trained on using it. Has basically everything you need for a combat situation to stabilize until a medivac would arrive, including IVs.

Unless they WERE a combat medic/emt/etc, I wouldnt want another person putting IV's in me...

However, I do think that everyone should be required to take a first aid/first responder course (the one NOT meant for baby sitters that actually covers USEFUL things)

she had to carry it in Iraq and was well versed in training. You had to stick them live people during training plenty of times. That said, if your in shock, bleeding, etc. Someone will probably have to tell you someone stuck you with an IV after the accident...

also, quick clot powder is dangerous shit. The bandage version is the replacement the military uses.

Haha, well, all I meant was the average person who HASN'T been trained in them and started lots of IV's.... That's all I was getting at.

Some friends that live in Vegas were discussing starting an IV club. Basically like strip club with lots of hot nurses administering IV's to help recover from your hangover. They'll have an escort service to go along with it...

They wouldn't be able to anyways unless they're trained...Especially in a high adrenaline situation like right after witnessing a crash.

Quite a few of my buddies are paramedics, and starting IVs was tough for them. Takes practice to find/hit a blood vessel on chubby people, and it's tough to not blow straight through it on pretty much anyone.

I got my CPR & First Responder certs when I was 15...Never kept them current, but I still remember the majority of what I learned. Enough to stabilize someone while waiting for an ambulance or heli at least.

And then once you do know how to start them...It's hard not to abuse it. Like hanging a bag of Ringer's on the rear view mirror on the way to the firehouse after a LONG night of drinking. winking smiley
