Olympus rally entry fee
June 12, 2012 10:12PM
Just booked the hotel! I am wondering if anyone had a general idea of what the entry fees may cost, the fees aren't posted yet.

edit: Also has anyone rented the Head and neck restraint from Safe drives, if so how was your experience and if you've tried the 3 different kinds what seemed to work best?
thanks,
Chris

Checked the last set of supps that I had from a prior year... it was around:

$550 early regional entry
$50 recce
$180 for notes this year

So around $780ish? Just a guess man.

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

The Olympus organizers are meeting tomorrow night. I'll see if we are close to having fees figured out.

I've rented the Hybrid Pro and the R3 from safedrives.com The rent to own program Charles has is great! He will most likely be at the event so you don't have to pay shipping. I prefer the Hybrid Pro over the R3 and the Hans.

Dan, thanks for the tip! I'm so glad safedrives.com has got the rent to own program. these things are pricy. Understandably though. it appears with the hybrid pro you don't need extra seat padding?

Max, I will be at the Red lion where headquarters is, I did some researching on pricing and with the rally America code (on the Olympus rally page) its a pretty significant deal. I think it was $86 a night. I booked from Thursday to Sunday. The other hotels on the list are about 20 min away according to google maps. I will reply to your email after work today, computer decided to update everything it could this morning so I'm running out of time.

My friend and crewman rented from Safedrives for Ultra4/King of Hammers race. After paying the extra week ($200 for 2 weeks), Mr. Buren at Safedrives said he couldn't accept the rental back because it was dirty and scratched. Isn't that what happens to rental gear? My friend had his credit card charged the full amount of a sale. Your mileage may vary, but my experience with that gentleman is no better than my friend's story.

Weird. I have had nothing but good dealings with Charles, and now own my device after the rentals.

I have had nothing but good experiences doing business with Charles.

I haven't rented H&NRs from Charles, but I have rented or borrowed HANS Devices from others and I always return them in the same (or better) condition as I got them.

We rented, then bought one from Charles. I've yet to have anything but great dealings with him. He usually sells the rentals after a couple uses I think to keep the obvious wear down. If they beat them then he may not have had a choice really. Not like he is getting rich renting the stuff, more of doing the community a favor.

But..everyone has off days...

Yeah I got mine through the rental program and rented a total of 5 times and never had an issue. I've also bought seats, harnesses, extinguishers, 2 fire suits and more though him without ever having an issue.

Chris you are correct the Hybrid Pro doesn't require a back pad.
