GENTLEMEN DO NOT BRING INTO STUPID ARGUMENTS Wife and kids.

When did gentlemanly behaviour become the standard?

From Wikipedia
"In its best use, moreover, gentleman involves a certain superior standard of conduct, due, to quote the 8th edition once more, to "that self-respect and intellectual refinement which manifest themselves in unrestrained yet delicate manners." The word gentle, originally implying a certain social status, had very early come to be associated with the standard of manners expected from that status. Thus, by a sort of punning process, the "gentleman" becomes a "gentle-man".

"In another sense, being a gentleman means treating others, especially women, in a respectful manner and not taking advantage or pushing others into doing things they choose not to do."

Gentlemen do not change their minds years after a deal is done and defame others 2-3 dozen times.
Take it off line.

And note: gentlemen do not bring into a dispute a persons wife and children as you again have done time and again....I don't write anything about your "lifestyle' or economic conditions or relationships with others because I don't know anything and it's just not done by a man, much less by one attempting to present themselves as a "Gentleman".
You have done it repeatedly out of context and its on the internet forever.

I choose not to associate with people who do such things..

See again we have a case of failed reading skills, I should have typed slower I guess. I said John Lane had always been a gentleman in MY dealings with him. JL never claimed to be a gentleman, I accused him of it and I did it in response to Kieths post, nothing what so ever to do with your dealings run afoul situation.

Soooooooo predictably JVL avoids the subject of the thread....
Now trying to make himself out to be the hapless victim.....
John the amount of garbage you've had to say of me in endless walls of text over the course of several years...
You fool no-one.

John I don't know how you've got it in your head that I've got any problem with your wife..... Others have spoke of you telling some story about this..... It is Not true.

Smile John! Let go of the anger......

I kinda feel like I'm in high school again, only I'm imagining all of the boys who are arguing each other dressed up as the cheerleaders and having a cat fight.

Makes the thread much better!

I love you!

But to answer the question... because I'm also intimidating and stubborn and probably too independant.

(and those are the nice answers, lol)

No rule changes except for fewer rules but don't take away the real name rule.

This is a free enterprise system - if it gets bad enough - traffic to this site will dwindle and it will self correct/distruct.

There's clearly a lot of dark water under a few bridges; reconcile, lurk, leave or keep wasting your time trying to prove whatever it is you're trying to prove...(my scroll bar works)

For me, I've learned a lot in the past 10 years, some of that here...I'm currently helping the youngest of 4 do his first motorswap - my eldest has already built 2 significantly difficult builds, most of which we learned on forums, some here - I'm grateful for the sharing of ideas, for time shared with my kids and the ability to promote the idea of passion for motorsport that will continue for generations...bah, y'all spend time doing what you think will count most...

John and John,

Just checking in, I'm really glad to see both of you are doing well (and I mean that!).

Here's something that will hopefully gets no response other than a few SMILES!

Take care!
