Congrats Grant!

Well congrats from us also! My son just left on vacation. Bought a nice tent trailer and is going mountain biking up on the peninsula, something about an old B-52 or some such that crashed in the 40s...they grow up so quickly.

Enjoy the ride pal, take lots of pics.

...and poor old rally car is doomed now. I'll give you a $1000 for it cuz I like ya

Overkill is consistently more fun

Doh! Labor started around 6 pm Friday and she was born at 6:30 am Sunday July 1st. It was a pretty big marathon! We've been home since Monday and mom and baby are doing great. Baby is a little jaundice due to high bilirubin but Roger prescribed her a biliblanket to help bring it back down. Yeah, fellow rallyist and friend Roger Mathews is our doctor! How cool is that! Someone we know and trust and consider a close friend is able to also be our family doc! Heading up to his office here in a few minutes for another heel prick and bili test.
She's been great so far. Maybe sleeping a bit more during the day than in the evening but we've probably gotten 6-8 hours of sleep every night though not uninterrupted. We got a new sofa last year that is a big L shape that we can both sleep on with heads near each other so we can watch nature documentaries and sleep and Abbey is close to the rocking chair for milk time.
She was the first baby in my rather large extended family to be be born with the Hughes last name since 1982. First Hughes girl since 1981. My brother and his wife had the first Hughes boy born since 1982 on Tuesday July 3rd as well. So the cousins are two days apart! Fun stuff!

Doctor today was like, "you guys look way too well rested to have a four day old baby." It's really fun and we really just try to get as much sleep whenever we can. I also grab a crying baby and take her upstairs for 30-60 minutes to let Abbey get a little more sleep each time.
