Escort?

Yes he owns a $200,000 MkII rwd Escort, splashed it all over You tube how cool it was practicing at the parking lot at Tim O'Neills all screaming sideways, as always.

Entered I believe it was Tall Pines and listening to the start and watching the clock on YouTube he made it 47 seconds on the First SS before he stuffed it and DNFed.
"Official" reason for DNF "a ground wire for the full pump"

The? as in the one pump?

Oh, well that's neat anyway... the car that is. I'll have to look around for details on that, it might be interesting to look at.

It was Rallye Defi, but something also happened with a tire catching on bodywork or suspension or whatever. You can hear it in this vid, and it's even in the Atko video too. Too much tire maybe?

I'm curious about what it took to close the bridge for this + the other areas....

$$$$$$$$

(Don't worry, I heard Ken has some of that.)

Apparently the bridge was shut down for renovations, and they took advantage of the few hours before work started after it shut down. Fantastic timing if you ask me!

As for the other parts of the city being shut down, I bet that was the $$$$$$ part. tongue sticking out smiley

It was a tire rub that put them off - imagine effectively locking one front wheel mid corner - but they couldn't get their fuel delivery problem sorted out at the service park so I suspect it was a bit more involved that 'one pump' going down.

The car is beutifully done, and was built in the UK afaik. Without seeing up-close pictures or seeing the car in person I wouldn't jump to the conclusion there was only one pump. I did see it in person but wasn't looking at that level of detail. I'm a little surprised the car doesn't make any cameos in his gymkhana videos now.

I really liked the right hand drift after the first big jump, and the jump turn. There was a lot of cool filming angles in this one.

$200,000 for an Escort? Why?

Step 1) give a dingo like $3,500 AUS (roughly $3,500 US) for his Escort.
Step 2) Ship to 'Merrica. Spend not $180,000+ for prep-work and parts.
Step 3) Don't fucking crash.
Step 4) Repeat step 3 until more WRC points

Something about something....dirt.

First, don't confuse JVL for an authority on the actual price of the car.
Second, it is truely a 'toy' for Ken - so he can buy what he wants
Third, it is a very high spec car from the engine through the paddle shift assisted sequential box so a solid 6 figure price isn't out of line for what the car is. (or at least the parts that make up the car.

The conversation of if Ken knows what to do with the car is irrelevant.

The Millington Diamond engine in Ken's Escort costs more than 98% of the North American field probably.
http://www.rallycarsforsale.net/clas/index.php?ct=fsrp&md=details&id=58352

Easily a $200k car once built and shipped.

5+ million views on this new gymkhana video. Crazy.

Sigh. No slander what-so-ever John.
I was simply saying Ken Block is likely the only person, other than his accountant, who knows what he actually paid for the car. Nowhere did I imply I knew the cost on the car, not sure what made you infer that.
I also said that solid 6 figures was probably in the right ball park for what the car is.

Wouldn't it be libel anyway? or do forums not count as print?
