Came across this today.

The only benefit I can see really is that here in Colorado we could rally these on Jeep trails since they are ATV based.

Wow.. we were kicking around the idea locally of building some moto/atv based 'cars' to have on hand at rally crosses to try to get some of the moto guys/kids into it.

I think they were testing one of those at dirtfish today, or at least they posted some pictures of them testing.

Looks like a blast, would be a nice option for running places like idaho that allow you to run UTV's. (I'm waiting for a honda pilot to pop up for sale so I can run that) But why bother with the bodywork? Looks like a lot of fiberglass to clean up, and another item to add to the spares list.

If there is a championship with money involved (say, getting you into at least one event in next years GRC), I'm down for this. I'm doubtful, but one can dream...

You mentioned ATV and I thought of this place I saw on a drive to Mt. St. Helens, off of Spirit Lake Hwy in WA.

Just took a closer look at the site you listed Grant....it does look like a blast!!! And probably appeal to a wide range of people. Something that could be good PR for Rally America to get more people interested in rally smiling smiley

Saw this machine in Millen's pit area at formulaD Seattle.

I'd rather have a one of those UTV things they race at Idaho. It looks to me like a "I'm well off enough to have everything else, so why not a glorified go-cart too" sort of thing.

My guess is $15-20K with proper suspension, turn key. A new 450 Honda dirtbike is almost $10k these days.

I think the target, turn key, is under $15k. You take a new or used raptor and bolt the bits into the prefabbed chassis. No fab required.

IF they start a racing series, cost will be a be determined by what the rules allow.
