We were just informed yesterday that the area where the stage road are is under fire risk and road access may be restricted to particular times when the rally is held. There will be a rally, but we may be running an alternate schedule that works around these restrictions.

If we have to use the alternate schedule, we will not be having a parc expose at the Capitol from 9-10. It might be earlier, later or not at all.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for rain in the next week.

Out here on the edge of the earth, we've had 45 or so days of no measurable rain.
Last Sunday was the first day we had more that a slight drizzle...

Right now, weather.com is saying 10% chance of rain this coming Saturday and 10% chance of rain on recce Friday. Saturday is supposed to be cloudy and foggy in spots. At least the Red Flag Watch for the area is over.

The parc expose at the Capitol has been cancelled.

Because of the fire risk, we do not have access to the roads from 1 pm to 8 pm. As a result, the stage schedule is being reshuffled. The schedule details are still being worked out, but the parc expose will likely be at 6am at The Ridge and there will be a long "service" break in the afternoon.

Also, again because of the fire risk, there will be no spectator locations on the stages. This is a restriction put on the rally by the landowner. There will be spectating at The Ridge.

Yeah, one of the rally officials says that he is washing every car in his neighborhood trying to get it to rain.

So this begs the question, Why was moving the rally to September even considered?

I can think of one, or maybe two years in the last twenty-five that the woods haven't
been closed during September...

Oh yeah?

Name them---cause I can't think of any.. And I think of these things when I'm 'splaining "Life in Washington" to my wifie and kiddies. I know I said, "Summer seems to really be July, August, and September...usually into early October....

I miss late Nov/ early Dec.. (sniffle)

But I'm probably wrong

I don't know.

If the rally had been held two weeks earlier than scheduled (say the traditional Wild West (conflicting with Defi) weekend), this would not have been a problem. This wasn't a problem for most of the stages until Wednesday. Nahwatzel wasn't a problem until Thursday.

We discussed fire risk during the Cle Elum fire and there wasn't any concern that this would be a problem from the people who know more about fire risk than I do.

So, since the fire risk schedule is released, there are no spectator areas (as stated above) correct?
