Black River Stages 2012--2wd for the Wiener!
September 16, 2012 06:25PM
Looks like Black River was fun...

Where's the Stage by stage reports?
The gearchange by gearchange quarterbacking?

OMG, I could find scores during the event!

http://www.nasarallysport.com/results/2012-Black-River-Stages-index.htm

OK, there may be a couple glitches here and there, but maybe they'd get go away if we doubled the salary of the guy who wrote the software!

And two top ten finishes for green boingers, including a podium! And maybe more that I don't know about.

Nice results, Martin/Ferdinand and Tim (Rex Karrs)/Steven!!!!!!

And great job, Anders. Between scoring on nasarallysport.com and Tim's and Seth Strait's facebook updates, I was able to follow what I wanted to without problem.

Wish I could've gone, but it's crazy season for my wife's business and I was triple booked with family stuff.

Wait! It looks like 3 on the Sooper Bitchin Suspenders in top 7, and 2 on the podium (at least in the rest of the world 1st, 2d, and 3rd are on the podium)

Kevin Turner in the 2wd Subie 1st overall, Martin Walter good job of 3rd Overall in the 240, even if is the wrong 240, and "Sir Tim" le Chevalier in the as far as we know STOCK Xratty at 7th overall.

Congratulations to all you guys..

I deedin't gnow about the Turner team running Sooper Beaching soospeenders.

Tim's XRatty is running an Eaton diff (he got a deal too good to be true, and it sounds like it was too good to be true, the only issue reported this weekend was the diff making weird popping noises...and this is AFTER having stub axles or something machined to make it work after the first assembly didn't, at one point he was lamenting not getting a Supra diff), a T5 with 2.95 first may have once been in one of my cars, and hopefully he's attached the Cozzie intercooler I sold him a while ago!

But otherwise, I think that thing is stock. His Facebook comment:

BRS 2012 is in the books. Finished strong with no major issues with the car. Man do I love rear wheel drive!

John, send Kevin the fucking bump stops he asked for would you? hot smiley I think we probably beat the ones in the car to the point of needing those new ones.

Tim has the intercooler in, but I suspect the blue tape end caps are probably not cutting it for him.

Gaaaaah. Am I going to have to install my Cozzie intercooler on the black car and make him some tubes? Even _I_ can do that with a few mandrel bends and my welder.

So that car is bone...ass...stock except for the T5 and Eat'n LSD diff.

Anders - Codriver should get some recognition. Make and model is definitely needed! Something a little more interpretable than (at TC17a)... Is TC17a after 17 stages or is it the final MTC after 7 stages with ATC and FTC at each stage and one O control (and the first MTC = 17 TCs)?
That's constructive criticism. I like the graphic. It's super cool.

Oh you guys. smiling smiley

The graphics were designed to be used for "TV", that is, low resolution streaming. So everything has to be big. As it turned out, we used them as a rotating slide show in the bottom left quarter of the broadcast, so that means they were this size:

Which is reasonable... but doubling the info (adding just co-driver, let alone machine) would effectively half the size available for each piece of info which severerly affects readability:

But, it turns out that this sort of linkable graphic of results is pretty neat, so I'm going to do a differently coded graphic generator that includes co-driver/make/model just for forum linking.

For what the current graphic was built for, it worked perfectly. For this new purpose, you're totally right, it needs to be tweaked... but hey, it's not like a had a rally to put on. winking smiley It will be in place by Sandblast.

Ever onward, iterate, generate, debug, build, rebuild, recode, improve, improve, improve! grinning smiley

Congratulations to all you guys..

Thanks. We ran clean all weekend and had a great time. Reilly had made back the previous days road penalty plus 7 sec but lost his throttle cable on the penultimate stage dropping 2 mins. Then we flatted on the way to the cabin after the party.

We also had a trouble free sensible run. I discovered when we got home Sunday night that we were given an extra minute on SS1 our 9:05 should have been 8:05... which would have put us in second place, but Ferdinand got chatting and forgot to check... Duh!

We had a blast at our first NASA event, loved the tight twisty technical roads... and the occasional flat out bast! Given CARS are in the process of screwing up G5 you may see us at more NASA events in the future.

Anders, since you list first and last name of the driver, wouldn't last name only of driver/co-driver in that format be about the same?
