Mt. Hood Rally Registration Open
September 24, 2012 01:22PM
Now that Olympus is behind us, it's time to turn our attention to the Pacific Forest Rally and the Mt. Hood Rally. While I can't speak for PFR, I can speak for Mt. Hood.

And I say that Mt. Hood Registration is open! Enter via the Rally America web site, http://www.rally-america.com

We have to change a few dates in the Supps, but I hope to get those and other bits of information posted today or tomorrow, certainly at http://www.mthoodrally.com and hopefully also at Rally America.

It will be essentially the same rally as 2010, with Gilhouley, Fir Mountain, and the 17 Road all run in the opposite direction as last year. It will be the usual two-pass recce on Friday, October 19, with competition on Saturday, October 20.

Tech and Reg will be at the usual locations in Parkdale, the rally will once again conclude with awards at the Armory. There is no official host hotel.

The poor old orange thing hung out with my friend and I on the 2nd run of Nahwatzel on Sunday. Sweep went to tow it out and it was making horrible noises. That's all I've got. tongue sticking out smiley

does Al qualify as an old orange thing too?

I do recall him saying something about a broken fuel line, but I doubt that's what was making the noises as they tried to tow it away, can't really explain them or where in the car they were coming from, but they were not pleasant to my ears. It didn't make them when we pushed it off the road. He'll just have to come in here and be more specific. Though I suppose, since I've never heard him cry before, that the noises may have been coming from him.

There was a battle of wills going on while we waited for the rest of the cars to finish the stage. He was saying he wouldn't make it to Mt Hood and my friend was determined to make him understand that yes he really would be making it to Mt Hood.

I'm buying Al one slick White BRAID wheel for his volvo.
I really hope that a bent wheel/lack of tires wasn't his issue.
I counted at least 6 cars at the end of nawhatzl parked on flat tires with a busted rim in the trunk.
ask, Dustin, Tom, Lars, an evo, two tabors, . . .

Nah, it just makes that sound! Now I see why folks move the lines to the inside, and get those fancy wheels.

Thats a pretty good trade Adam, that Nova was $20, plus Krylon. Lets get that order together and make it happen cap'n. We killed 3 wheels. PS if I ever catch you rooting around in the back of my truck again, I'll cut off a toe!

This is true. It was making horrible noises at my O Control after stage 1.

What does "Recce School" teach that makes it mandatory?

It's very well presented, clear and coherent about the 1 thru 6 grading of turns, and how to note minus and plus. Fine tuning to the Nth degree.
Shirley you know that without 18 shades of tuns that everybody will die.
THINK of the CHILDREN...

Oh wait, you're a ambulance chasing Lawyer, I see why you don't want people getting the note perfect!
Naked grabbing for blood money! If they don't get the 18 shades just right, you can make a career of suing for outrageous criminal negligence..
You'll be set for life.
Need a paralegal? With experience?

Now Alperti Kunkanen and I were overwhelmed but I think we all agree that this is our inspiration and goals:
<object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="

?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="

So we just made simple descriptive notes of what the ROADs do, not an imagined speed we would expect to attack at...

I was reading about the shovels and thought "oh, they have the perfect ones for a car at Costco" and then kept reading and saw those were mentioned. I found this quite funny. I'm far too easily amused.
