Before the rally I was wondering if I had spent too much time building the skid plate on Chris's car. Nope! With the stock ride height we were practically sledding on the dam thing!

Prepping Cougar Flats for recce, I had to go into the stage to unlock the gate around 7 miles in, turn around and drive it backwards. My car is as high as its H&R coilovers will go, but still around 2" under stock ride height. Because I was trying to get two stages open at roughly the same time, I had to get in and out quickly and the skidplate took a beating. At least I flattened the stage road out for a few cars.

P.S. Any recommendations on suspension for a MkIV Golf used for TSDs and rally official duty? I actually have more room to go up in the front, but the rear spring perches are as high as they will go.

Whoa, I'm the guy in George's Civic - really not aiming to be an ass I swear. Tom I'm sorry I really didn't see you flag us, or register what was going on for you right after the stage finish. Honestly my history is one of stopping to help and tug people on stage. I'm sorry.

it's all good, lesson learned, next time I'll throw one of the flats in front of the next 4x100 car that drives by! Its my fault for not packing two spares on that stage anyways.
