You would of course know all this but your hip pose regarding picking up the telephone which you say is too much bother, or you're too cool to answer it doesn't help.
I also have asked that you send the tubes up for what i call "a recall". I have changed how i make the weldment at the bottom and that saves roughly 3/4" overall length, everything else remaining the same...
Again no response.
Maybe you should have tweeted and posted on Facebook.

It's almost as logical as your hip pose regarding email. smiling smiley
My phone is actually in pieces. I am not going to have a phone for a few months... But before then, no, I do not like talking on the phone. Why? Email is more succinct. In person is more personal. I actually get the full conversation via email or in person whereas I don't with phone conversations.

And, I think you provide better service than most most of the time. And you're usually a phone call away if it's really important.

Grant, the bect strut was straightened, I told you there is a crack at the base of the pin. The intention was to find one of the 2 1 lb tubs of Heat Fence so we could TiG it and then turn the weld down so the upper spring seat fits.
Both 1 lb tubs have disappeared.
Scott's suspension will probably ship by Tuesday-Wednesday next week.

I also have asked that you send the tubes up for what i call "a recall". I have changed how i make the weldment at the bottom and that saves roughly 3/4" overall length, everything else remaining the same...
Again no response.

I'll happily pay the $5-10 for a new tub of Heat Fence if that's the hold up.
Scott will be happy to hear that!
Hopefully the weather stays somewhat decent for the next few weeks. I'd like to roll the Merkur outside on a nice day and spray it down and clean surfaces and paint the interior so I can start reassembly. Our shop is a cold cold cold unit.

Just got in from dressing up what has been a real pain in the ass since forever (actually the mid to late 90s when Bilstein went from a aluminum seal holder to the current steel one).
The clearance between the tubes and inserts is held to around .0015" but the new steel seal holders at the very bottom have maybe 10 tiny little ribs and upon assembly those ribs bump the tube out by about .0005"-.0006" and that means in diameter the tube is 10 sided by about .001 to .0012, so I usually kiss the bumps a bit and open the clearance by a theoretical red c**t hair... You have to. Pretty hard to hammer in an insert that's a thou bigger than the hole in the bushing..

So today I bored some soft jaws so they ran dead nuts true and then with a sharp insert, knocked the tops of those bumps off...
Also finished the annoying Subie ears with their horisontal oval 16.5mm x 18.5mm hole on the front, and the 14mm x 16.5mm vertical hole on the other ear.

Tomorrow I will cut another 6 strut tops (while the soft kaws are set up for the 40mm inserts) and then welding begins..

I'm pretty sure the best suspension for any car is the suspension that you can get and doesn't take forever to get serviced.

Off the shelf Bilsteins until you are on the ragged edge. Don't kid yourself. What a great product.
