Hindsight. Next rallycar will be a nice easy simple gp5 thing. Meanwhile, I sure like the way this one handles.

Ask Charles what he thinks about Gp5, after running 4th/5th OA in my 98 Wheel HP Toyota.
Gp2 is where the fun is!

Um, yeah. The tires we put on in service were a tad taller than what was there before, and the LF gave the inside edge of the bumper plastic a lil kissykiss every now and then. *HONK*

Gp2 is where the fun is!

The number of group 2 cars at LSPR this past weekend was just silly! 17 out of 35 in G2 and two other production cars that were 2WD as well. It's definitly a highly contested class. There were only 3 G5 cars for the weekend.

I still think they need to just lump everything into 2WD for regionals. A turbo gives you some low end grunt, which is always nice. My next step is either a bone stock ITR motor or slapping a snail on the B16. The turbo will give better torque with the same power, and likely cost less to put together, but an ITR motor will give 185 at the wheels once tuned and bone stock reliability.

I'd still likely lean to the G2 motor due to entry numbers. I'd sure hate to show up to an event and can count the competitors in my class on one hand. I like running out of fingers to count how many teams I'm up against on a weekend.

I have never rallied anything but a G2 car (and even that not much), but I can't imagine having more fun that I am already. Who would have thought so little power could be so fun!! I was finding places on stage where more would have been nice, especially mid range. Guess that is the sickness...........

The type r motor is fun so far for me. I have only been out testing with it though. Mine made 183 whp and 133 torque with a dc sports header which I already had, 2.5" exhaust, and an intake.

So the Toyota Ignitors need to be grounded to work.

Charles said they came loose, but it wasn't until I got home and cracked the hood that I saw the entire coil bracket had popped its spot welds (3) and flopped loose in the engine bay.

A simple ground wire would have put them on their way again.
Sorry Charles.
(and sorry adam for taking 2hrs of swapping stuff around before trying to ground them).
