Had a great time.
Managed to hold 3rd overall.
No way were were catching Hendo in our class.
Got mooned by a baby.
Just barely held off John Reed.
Found the mudflap that we lost during our off at OTR.

Yeah about that, sorry man but I had to see that she received an accurate rally education. I'm sure you understand.

Better put another 500lbs on that car and 19mm restrictor to equalise the competition...

And considering John has what? 4 events? Better think of some way of crippling his car--ugh an old Toiletta Commode-ah!
Where's that Canajian Rules Committee when you really need them?

As a last straw; we had just really wanted to get to the end of this event after a string of DNFs this summer, and breaking the mount for that upper trailing link halfway through the rally made it look questionable. But true to volvo 240 form, 3 out of 4 links turns out to work just fine, for a while. We had gruesome grinding noises on the last transit back to main control, but made it! Of course, this afternoon while unloading the barge from the trailer, the other upper trailing link mount snapped right off and left the car totally hobbled, resulting in much grunting, laughing and swearing in the pouring rain as I hauled it the last few yards into its cave for the winter.

What a great time, the fall colors and snow flurries while ripping those dusk stages, what a treat! To Tabors, Ben and Pete, sweep, and all the volunteers who spent the day out in the cold and wet, many thanks!

Nothing to be proud of. Just sliding wide around a L3 and slipped off the road. We learned that the car sits at quite an angle without rolling. . . good to know. Sweep pulled us out and we finished the stage. The car was unscathed. Until the last stage.

Sounds like things could have gone worse. I'd take the time to find a co-driver who remembers to call deer cautions next time. (or strap a deer whistle to the car) winking smiley

Well, I had fun. Drove up Friday, stood around in the rain/mud on Saturday as part of the rallydata.com team, had a nice spaghetti dinner at the armory (with too many carrot cakes for dessert), and then had a nice drive back.

It's always fun to come up and say hi to my PNW friends. Got to hang out with Chris Blakely all day at a control, which was nice because I hadn't seen him in about six years.

I think I was the first one to congratulate Jay on his car finishing an event. He was mighty relieved at the the final MTC.

Didn't get to check out the Sonnett, which was kind of a bummer. It looked pretty when it came through though.

Thought we were going to lose some cars in the slippery mud on Gilhouley's second running, but almost everyone came through ok. Well, except for Al, who stuffed it. He got going again though. Not sure how, but he did.

It was weird seeing Adam in the wrong seat, but I guess he's one of those drivers who can turn their brain back on when required.

All in all, good times. Wish I'd entered.

^ Yeah, ya shoulda. 'Twas a blast.
"He was mighty relieved at the the final MTC"... well geeze it's s been HOW long sice I've seen a final MTC?! 2nd time through Gilhouley was kinda greasy now that you mention it.. Greasy but hysterical. We just could not get the car to move up hill but could carry some speed down the other side. Here's our incar of it. Shit they let anyone foist their incar onto the intarwebz these days.

Jay - Yes, youtube does. But rallyanarchy has a rule that I just made up that requires all in-car be posted to the car's build thread, which I have yet to see for your car. Thus as ultra mega moderator I'm going to delete your incar until you are in compliance.
In other news... Nice driving. Looks fun! Love that stage!

(spews coffee all over keyboard) Dude, there are not enough cuss words in the *universe* for this cars' build thread. Just ask Mr. Lane! If you are truly bored, have lots of spare time with nothing else to do, then go here,
http://www.clubprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?44053-The-Frankenprotege-rallycar-worklog

.. I leave this up as a reminder, just in case I ever think about doing any manner of drivetrain swap ever again.

I vaguely recall somebody suggested something simpler... like real simple, with a simple 2.3 engine and a simple T3 turbo simple. Like what a whole lot of others who have done the turbo 4wd route eventually figured..
