This is good news.
Olympus Rally would like to thank Rally America for the past years of partnership, For 2013 Olympus had decided to go another direction and won't be a part of their 2013 schedule. Little Creek Casino will be our headquarters and Green Diamond has agreed to letting us rally on the same great roads that we used last year, just not so dusty as we will be in the spring of 2013,Stay tuned for more info coming soon! |

Is that just a guess? If USAC gets involved that splits things further rather than bringing things together. Wouldn't blame them if they did go in that direction and it would be interesting if USAC did get involved in Rally, just wouldn't be the consoledation that I was thinking might happen. Regardless...RA is splintering that much is obvious. www.nismostuff.blogspot.com |

See, R-A has a, at this point, 6 event national calendar. Bill Fogg wants seven events and is looking to expand it further. So I don't see how "it's obvious" that Rally America is splintering.
And why would anyone wish for someone to fail? What do you think happens IF ,and it's a big IF, a national event calendar were to go away? And don't you think that the Olympus committee had an exit plan well thought out in advance? They weren't going to up and quit without some other sanctioning body there to take over. Meant the guys in canada with the crazy 2wd rules. Maybe I used wrong letters? Either way, I've failed at humor since I've had to explain myself. ![]()
PPIHC is sanctioned by USAC and their rules are terrible, though I don't know that USAC has anything to do or not with any aspect of the PP rule book. PP won't allow FIA seat belts to be valid for 5 years as they are in the rest of the world. 2-years is it. They also don't allow 2" waist straps even if they carry the same FIA certification as ones with the 3" lap belts. Dave |

Actually, we don't have a well thought out exit plan. This is the PNW, home of the John Nispel philosophy "It's a rally; things will work themselves out". We do have options, but haven't made a decision yet. alan perry olympus rally P.S. As a CARS steward, I was kinda hoping that we would join the Canadian Rally Championship, but that probably isn't going to happen. BTW, this statement concerning the CRC was a joke. One thing that I learned from Olympus this past year is that, when you are an official, all jokes must be clearly marked as such. |

West Coast Rally Championship.
Olympus, Rally Idaho, Prescott, Rally Colorado CRS for Prescott and two to four other Southwest events making their SW championship. (Desert Storm, HDT, Gorman, etc.) NSWRS for Rally Idaho and two to four other events for their championship. (North Nevada, Mendocino, maybe another Idaho event?) PNW for Olympus and ... (Mt Hood, Doo Wops, Wild West, etc) FRRC for Rally Colorado and some new events along the front range of the Rockies. Dreaming here... Each regional club does well enough that they are able to fund the entries and a tow fund for the top teams from each class from their previous years regional championship to attend the larger championship. East and Central regions follow a similar plan. Each year one event (rotates) from each region is chosen as a national championship event. Top three from the previous years Regional Championships are the only ones allowed to compete for the National title. So, in order to compete for a National Championship you have to win your local series to get into the Regional series which you have to place top 3 to get to the National Championship. Grant Hughes |

Was thinking about how cool it would be to have stpr, nefr, rwv, BRS, and sandblast in the same series. it would be a busy summer for sure. -KTurner Stomp down on the exhilarator and hold on to the wheel. |

You could do a Northeast/East series easy too...BRS, a Quebec or other Canadian event, RWV and STPR (since if they really were/are being stiffed by RA maybe they will be exiting soon as well). www.nismostuff.blogspot.com |

I'm thinking how cool it's going to be having a six event national championship. Sno*Drift, 100AW, Oregon, STPR, NEFR and LSPR.
