So your flight reservations customer service person doesn't assume you are going to Dakar and put you on a plane to Dakar while your busily typing away to your rally buddies on your smart phone and not paying attention.

See? I saved your ass. The bill is in the mail.

You obviously are just being a smartass and have provided nothing positive to Jason's request. And, had you actually read his post, he said "Thinking about ... driving to South America"

Jason, I wish I could provide any kind of help, but I've never been to South America or have any insight to the event. Have you tried contacting the organizers?

Yes, the ASO apparently doesn't respond to emails in English or Google-traslations into French.

I'll be in touch with some folks that were on teams in 2009 and 2012, and hope to gather some more intell from some of the competitors that are running this year (January 2013).

So far it looks like the best-only way to get full access over the entire event will be to be attached to a team either through sponsorship or friendly invitation. So I'll be working on that with the teams that are going in 2014. But I want to make sure that I don't have to be a registered "service crew" or "media" or something. I'd hate to have a penalty levied against a team because their invitee was in a forbidden place during an impound or something.

Jason,

We've been at the last two Dakars that have raced thru Peru. I run an Moto Adventure Tour company out of Peru and have traveled most of South America.

What do you want to know?

T&A!!???

But why Ts and As? Is there some way to achieve the same outcome with just Ts or just As, and then add the second element for certain kinds of events?

Unfortunately, its WAAAAAAAAAY expensive to add implants later to supplement those chassis's. You're better off finding a package deal.

I wasn't thinking of adding the implants; I was planning on just leaving them detached for slower events. Because, this side of too much Islay or cupful of salt-peter, I can think of nothing that would slow me down more than a detached implant.

Or am I missing the point?

In this particular situation, the vehicle of your racy pleasure might just remove some of your chassis components if you attempt to separate any from the options that came with the model from the factory.

No one wants to put this much time and effort into preparation to have their own HotBits go cold. smiling smiley
