Dude, talk to Alex. Just call him up..He's a smart guy and has gotten some good advice occasionally from some of the guys here. He did the "kinda obscure car cause i have it" and next he's going to "do the simple car cause it awesomer in near stock spec"

"the" rally schedule for North America - http://www.rallyracingnews.com/2012rallyschedule.html - not sure when they'll have 2013 out, but should give you an idea.

There's Idaho, several Canadian events around Calgary, then Olympus, Oregon Trail.

Rocky mountain is just north of you, I spent the last couple weeks in and out of Livingston and Bozeman areas and am anticipating moving up your way this summer.

Most of the Idaho board communication is done via email, I don't think anyone pays attention to the boards.

Feel free to shoot me a message, you are more than welcome to come check out my project, and I'm sure that Alex or Dan would say the same.

Just wait til you try to find videos. Searching Idaho rally turns up some interesting and weird videos. Or at least it used to. Batshit bird Palin's rally in Boise always used to be first to show up back a few years ago.
You should post pics of the Corolla.

Yea were thinking about moving to Portland , i. Lived in Lacey WA and loved it, i saw what you said about the car , its just getting to the car , if I had the money id definatly do that , do some brain picking ..if there's one thing I like to do, its learn, I hate know it all's ...but I'll definatly be at the Olympus rally ready with a dry sponge and a camera , when I do this car I want it right , trial and error is good but you guys knows what works and what works done right don't break the bAnk , I know dollar bills have giant jet engines that's why I ask questions..and for sure this is the best place to ask !!

Used to live in and around OLY when I moved back to the US when I was 30.
I liked the area for getting in the woods quick (like across the street from the Husqvarna shop I worked at while ploughing my way thru battalions of wimmiz at Evergreen College.. Course when you're having that much fun playing "bouncy bouncy" and "hide the zucchini" any normal male would like anywhere! It wasn't even fair!

Portland is OK I guess, maybe a just few too many fixie bike riding, skinny jean wearing, soul patched, PBR swilling hipsters--particualrly in the Volvo scene but there is a good and growing nucleus of guys with their heads on straight down there who have seen the light and are all building or running simple rwd cars and even a couple of OK guys in FWD things.. Friendly guys..
One thing for sure: there's always 25-35 Volvo 240s in the Metro Portland area Pick-n-pulls.. I think it was zoning ordinances that required 4-6 240 per block that explains the mountains of 240s in town... Up here its usually only 7-10 at any given time....

What would it take to tip the balance toward moving back?

I work for the federal government, so getting transferred shouldn't be that hard , the balance has ready started slightly that direction, my girlfriend soon to be wife's baby daddy is a prick and needs a beat Down with a tire iron and a caterpillar D-9, so to evade this puss bucket we were thinking about moving that direction, Idaho sounds good as well..better money that way too..them dingle berries never did email me back about those volvos ..
