With millions of dollars available to petter Solberg, what does he spend his own money on??? Should be a lesson.

My post was sarcastic...I think that suspension is about as basic as it gets. winking smiley

Anywhere out there showing what the rear suspension does look like? I mean, I know there's more than one way to skin a live axle, though I also know the assumption's going to be long 4-links.

Yeah right here in Construction we have the full Escort Rally Preparation book scanned.. search "Motorsport manual scan"

Oh, I've got that one. Was wondering if Petter was still using that basic setup or not. I just always find it interesting to see what people build or have built, yaknow?

I was just looking at the results and the start list etc and those are FIA "Historic" cars so its built time period correct so its a plain old Gp4 car..as in the long links and as you see, leaf spring..

Very amusing that Solberg and "Eken" Johnasson are doing times in historic ares right around 21st-22nd... don't know what motor Solberg has---either a BDA --1600 or a BDG 2,0..
But I do know the roads get chewed so not too bad in a 35 year old car..in 35 year old spec.

Note how softly sprung the car is for the snow. It's all about the weight transfer!

That was great clip. Its so nice to see a car go so clean and nice..
Light weight, hood power, good steering, good suspension and tires that work...
Fun fun fun...

Also, that's got to be some fucking wicked motor:
"My man Phil Mills had continually told me to shift at 9400 rpm, but I kept ringing her out to 10,400.. The car just revs and revs. It’s an unbelievable machine, and I bought it to use it!"

Its an Mk2 so its either 1840cc or 2000cc. A 2000cc historic legal engine makes 250hp and 180lb/tq on webber 48's and costs just over 20000 pounds. Fun for sure!
