That give you a hint?

P Solberg with a Swedish flag??
Rhymes with Vanilla, and I met her when she was saying goooo-goooo ga!

More hint?
OK here's his service crew, what kind of car does has he decided to run?

seems they're entered in Finnskogsvalsen this Saturday.

Every person who knows somebody building a blue Subaru should point their friends toward this thread..

He could choose any car in the world, and chose the most simple basic type and layout there is...

Rally Car:
1980 Opel Ascona B

I got to hang out with Petter back in 2001 when I was working for Subaru Canada Rally Team. He came over for the unveiling of the new WRX at the Toronto Auto Show. He had just joined SWRT at that point after having been with Ford. I told him about my Opel Ascona which I still had and was restoring and he told me he just bought back his first rally car, an ST205 Toyota Celica All-trac. Then we went out drinking and took him to some nudie bars.

If you're going out to have fun and enjoy yourself, it seems like the Mark 2 is one of the best choices. smiling smiley

John, I see the point you are trying to make but to be fair Petter did not build the car. And he is not really spending his money on it. It was a loaner. I think almost everyone here would rally anything if it was free.

The main quote of merit here is this.

"Solberg will be joined in the car - which has been built by his former co-driver Phil Mills - by his wife Pernilla"

Really dumb question: on the passenger side of the car, sometimes I see the co-driver's name above the driver's, and sometimes I see the driver's on top. What's the deal with this? Do different sanctioning bodies and/or countries use different conventions?

Yes, this really depends on the rule set that is being run for that rally. And also how strict they are at enforcing it. WRC did not even have co-driver names on the cars for a couple of years.

It seems the most common method is to have the person who is sitting on that side of the car's name on top.

bumpie bumpie no leakie..

These boys do sometimes bump into eachother...

All real rallycross cars have always had rad in a nice safe location...and that ain't the front.

Don't. It only makes you sad all the resistance here forever...
There are so wicked it ain't funny..
I have thought it would be fun to get some over just to play on. They last pretty good if kept on ice and snow...
(helped some ice race guys in Maine by bringing in hundreds of Black Rocket rally studded tires and they said after a couple of years "a couple of studs had spit out". These guys run long long races and frequently... They were waaaay bad....)

Don't you have some c5s? Mount those on some BMW wheels and I'll test them out this weekend camping.

They are expensive.

I needz more 15" donuts. Damn BMWs with a regular trunk seem to come with full size spares.
