sorry for the off topic but WTF is this "halo" bar you all speak of? What are they called in other parts of the world.

on topic, in aust. 2WD turbo = no restrictor and any fuel, but stock turbo(or looks stock smiling smiley)

The ring around the roof of the car. Roof bars I guess you could call it. Seems everyone has their own way of calling different bars.

This could very well be another case where the standard language differs between road-racing and rally, but I was taught that a "halo design" is when there is a bar with two bends starting at one top corner of the main hoop, going three-quarters of the way around the top, ending back at the other top corner of the main hoop; while a "twin-hoop" design is when there is a front hoop and a main hoop, with two straight bars at the tops of each side. In the former, the "halo bar" is the three-sided piece at the roof; the latter does not have a "halo bar."

Are you all mad? Ya been in the sun too long, son! Technological genii are all in agreement that you have to slow the cars down and the ONLY way to do that is with 34 or 32mm restrictors.... now nevermind that the place with the most experience w 34mm---WRC---saw the average speeds go up appox 5 km/h after 34mm became the standard and people got down to tuning---lots of very expensive rebuilding and tuning---the motors for 34mm...

So serious is the need up here that the Federation of America's Hat instituted a 3 year study to adress the problem of ever increasing costs in Open 4wd class and delining new entries which "talked to repected shops" and even better "talked to tunerz" and concluded that the solution for the problems up there in the frozen North was to limit the 2nd least subscribed class to 2.0 liters and slap a 32mm restrictor on only there "Open" cars...

Don't you guys care about the SANCTITY of HUMAN LIFE???

Were you all drunk?
Ah ! I got it, by going all unrestrictored you're hoping to kill 'em all off then low powered heavy newer shiitboxes won't get embarrassed.
Whatdya know, you ain't just a gang of lager-louts!

Australians are Mental as Anything. However they seem to be allowed to roam the globe and carry out there antics.

Look no Hans!!

Now I know there was a fatality at the X Games recently and in no way am I making light of that. However both the X Games and rallying are held in the USA, but look at the massive safety discrepencies between the two "sports". Surely the number of people getting seriously injured in all the different X Games activities is a significant number now.
So newbies in rallying have to run a restrictor in the turbo to be "safe". Yet the guy above has only had 4 hours on a snowmobile and is in at the deep end.
Incidentally his snowmobile also gets stuck on full throttle on landing and shoots off into the crowd.

It's a mad world when I have to get a new helmet because the lining of my current one is only fire retardent and not fire proof. I think by the time the inside of my helmet is on fire I am not going to worry too much about it. Why not just make me wear a nomex balaclava instead of forcing a new helmet purchase on me.

Disappointingly not yet a Jackass
