Max! I think the mushiness has to come from those rear hoses.
Don't know what I was thinking--I am getting more forgetful.

Those things are -4 it seems to me since the fitting was bigger..
That's the ONLY thing out of the ordinary. Master cylinder size OK, fron caliper size: OK.
Rear caliper size: OK, front hoses OK.
Rear hoses BIG and LONG= volume.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.confused smiley

I dont know what to do with it. I was told it was supposed to be like the calipers off a mk3. its not. i tried to match up mk3 rear flex lines. didnt fit. i got that hardline/flex line kit from Summit. Pegasus has a line kit for golf, but i didnt want to spend $127 if the stock ones didnt work.

I thinkin! Gonna go have another ciggie and THINK!
The big deal is: what's the thread INTO the caliper?
I say M10 x 1
------------> How did you terminate the hardline by the rear bulkhead?

What's on the other side of the wheelarch where the fat SS flexie line goes thru?
I have -3 line and some ends here---gonna goo look but gotta see how the harlind from up front ends.

Post up a picture of the rear caliper. The collective VW peeps can probably figure it out.

Those look like aluminum mk4 calipers. The hose comes into them at a different angle and the fittings are different... I think.
(runs and checks the vortex=> too much stance, must leave!)
So I checked with google, and they said to look here: Mk4 calipers on a mk2

Looks like they use a banjo, and you might need some "conversion" lines. John can most probably be mostly capable of helping you with that.

Found a couple flex lines that worked. Changed it the folling setup.

now its just hardline straight to the flex line. the braided was larger then these. Havent bled the lines yet to see how they feel. Im thinkin of cutting an old radiator hose up and wrapping both sides.

Not sure if you have enough hose there to allow decent flexing through the entire range of suspension travel. Did you jack the wheel up to see how much tension it's under?

I would recommend you get two of these brakelines (or similar), bend them back straight, then bend as needed to get them to travel up the rear arm and into a short female/female flex hose that spans from the arm to the body. Then attach your hard brake lines to that flex hose.
