Who has that car now anyway?

And, what was the mystery?

Gaylord Van Brocklin bought it in early 2010 and then rolled it at HDT in 2011. The mystery is why he was so fast on a couple of straight hillclimb stages. I mean, we all expected him to be quick on the twisties and downhills, but he was outstanding going uphill in a supposedly near-stock Golf.

He ran it in CRS-2, not P-Stock, FWIW.

Well this escalated quickly... I work a kajillion hours of OT away from home for a week or so and look what happens to this place drinking smiley

In other news, Keith, I think the issue you are running into is that no matter how nicely you (or CARS) asks, people aren't going to get over the rule changes and move on. I feel I have a VERY good understanding of the why behind the rule changes, but that doesn't make them good no matter how they are justified (IMO).

As for the specific questions asked in your original post, everything seems quite legitimate based on where the classes currently stand.

This doesn't mean they are great ideas, but they do fit within the spirit of the current ruleset. On top of that, it doesn't matter what you add or limit to 2wd cars, the better driver will always win 150hp or 300hp, dogbox or no.

I will if you ever shut the fuck up with your endless snivelling.
Dude, you're the one who whined about Martin not taking me to task for one, tiny, utterly harmless jab. All I do is carry on a conversation without a need to pointlessly swear at and insult people.

What a crybaby. Pooor Keefy getting bullied.
Talk about firming up my 'limp accusations' of your juvenile behavior.

Again, if you use phrases such as "If John actually delivers ..."
So you're figuratively taking your ball and going home?

and if I do waste some of my valuable time, it is with the intention of helping the hundreds of people faced with the idiocy of applying rules which force people to spend money to replace seats which may have been used 6-8 times...

Don't you think you should understand 'why' the FIA standard has a 5 year expiry before you can choose to ignore it? (which is where our rules committee is at, trying to get that information from the FIA)

... presumably discussed, and passed.
You presume wrong.
The rule changes are under discussion, getting 'stakeholder feedback' and, as with the case of the seat expiry, some are being shelved for further study.

Well, it was probably also running the 4.64 or 4.88 final drive (I forget which it had) rather than the stock gearing it would have had to run for p-stock.

Mark had built it for p-stock and had a 2nd trans with the final drive to swap in and out.
