None of the above.

Pretty much the only "practice" I get is running track days and that's really not much for practice. About the only form of dusting the cobwebs comes from playing Sim racing.

About the offroad park, do they just let you bring your rallycar whenever you want? Are there scheduled times for cars/trucks? Or do you have some kind of deal?

One of the local rally guys back in 2003 or 2004 found out about the place and with the help of other folks marked out a rally sprint course on the property. Its been available ever since...but each fall we're told the park may not open the following spring due to cost issues. So far we've been lucky and it's opened in March. As for costs and whatnot, I've typically bought a season pass good for every weekend of the season for $200-300, but they also offered $10-20 day passes. I went with the year pass as it seemed like it increased the chances the park would open. Either way, local road race tracks are $100 for a 4 hour pass or $160 for the day, so the offroad park is a steal!

Here's a couple videos that show a little bit of the property, first one isn't on the sprint course, but rather a road that bisects the property...and when nobody is there, its a great place for top speed runs:

Second one shows shots of the BMW during testing on the sprint course. Some years its smooth, other years its really bumpy (like in this vid)

Here's the place I work in the winters and keep up on the seat time:

Video of the 2nd of 2 larger tracks from a few years ago when the Evo was mostly stock. Have been keeping the BMW in Steamboat and getting more and more comfortable with RWD on the slippy stuff lately. Its loads of fun but not nearly as fast as the AWD car.

I'm a fan of karting for practice. I am generally too aggressive of a driver and karting helps to curb that. Lock the brakes or let it step out and your entire lap is trashed. There is a really nice indoor track here. With membership 10 min/$10, buy three get the fourth session free.

It might not be "seat time" but there are so many ways to train or practice being a rally driver. From making mental or verbal notes as you commute to work to inviting your codriver over for dinner and some bonding time. Not as fun as pitched sideways, chucking rocks though.

mountain biking (or maybe downhill skiing) seems to scratch the itch for me when there is nothing else to do with the car. Richard Burns + RallyeSim gets about as close as a game can

Nothing beats seat time in a car but that is not available to most of us. Mountain biking (downhill riding especially) and motorcycles have done more to make me comofortable in the rally car at speed than anything else. I am still not fast but that's a different issue.
