NASA Rally Championship

This has been beat up much http://www.nasarallysport.com/main/press-release?ID=501

Both Idaho Rally and Nameless Performance Rally are qualifying rounds for this. Higgins doesn't have it won grinning smiley

Kind of neat it is not a trailer championship. Like the Olympics or Super Bowl, the baddest ass the day of the last race takes all.

I'm for and against "winner takes all" final round events. Doesn't award consistency in finishing positions, so just from bad luck good competitors who are championship contenders get ruled out because of the final shootout format. Granted RA national championship isn't as much of a tow championship it was before in 2WD because there is actual competition there now. But Central Regional RA has been a tow championship for a while same with the old style ARC in a way. I was talking to Niday about a re-structure and he's open for opinions. Which reminds me, I need to email him to talk further about it.

Restructure? Like Ch 7? That's the kind of restructure RA is going to have. smiling smiley

I like a final winner takes all. Bad luck is often a poor excuse for driver error or poor preparation. Luck only applies to lotteries. Everything else comes down to hard work and determination.

Kinda sucks that Prescott is the same weekend as PFR.

If we had qualified at either Nameless or Idaho we'd likely have done Prescott - but not when the other choice that weekend is 2200 km closer to the rally car.

Would be cool if someone that owns a transportation company gave a good deal for like 5-6 cars out of a neutral location in the east.

Billy, don't get them to change it yet. I hope to tow my way to a championship next year!!! After that, sure.

How about a hybrid? You get some sort of advantage for what you've accomplished during the year. Position on road, everyone gets 200 lb and you get 5 lb removed for each point earned, some multiplier....

Someone that owns a transportation company did that to Laughlin a few years ago. Think that the Wimpeys got their Golf there that way.

Pitch the producers of Shipping Wars with an idea of each of their 'truckers' picking up a car from a different location and having something of a race of their own to make it to the event.
At least you'll get rally on TV if it comes together!

Another option would be to extend the finale one more event every year to rotate thru the locations.

Where are the trophy girls? Shouldn't the trophy be strapped down?

Not totally clear from the info on the link...but would I be correct that someone could still enter Prescott even if they haven't done any other events? ...just wouldn't be eligible for the 'championship' but would still have a kick ass time competing against all the other people that are?

Yes, that's correct. And of course there's the parking-lot party afterwards.
