yea not digging the "last stage takes all" thing.

Last stage doesn't take all. Last stage is a qualifying method. If you win the final stage of a rally outright but finish overall in 10th, you qualify for the National Championship.

Few things that are unclear...
Does this apply to ALL NASA stage rallies to qualify? Bummer that the two best west coast events on the calendar are both in June, too close to Pikes Peak. Guess Dave will have to wait to be introduced as a national rally champion at BWDS for a few more years.

Not the last stage, but a stage we designate as the 'Power Stage' . The winner of that ALSO qualifies to go to the Championship battle, along with th over-all event winners. Nameless will have a Saturday stage declared for this purpose, haven't decided which one yet.

This whole program NASA has is actually pretty good. The only thing that could eventually be changed for variety is the "run offs" location and the fastest stage qualifier, the organizer could say what stage counts. Like the most difficult of longest etc, just to add spice. Otherwise excelente.

cool to see nasa trying out the shootout formula - guess we'll have to come back in an open class car! +1 on rotating the final round amongst the different regions.

We do crown two, separate, equally recognized champions: 2WD and AWD. (and their codrivers, of course)

So you don't have to go get an open class car.

But if this is who I think it is winking smiley , (and fill out your profile please, everyone uses a real name on this board) you're very competitive in your vehicle already. grinning smiley

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.
