Did anybody leave any random triangles with made up peoples names on them laying around? Like "Hannu" or "Miki"?

What happened to Will Orders??

Also, Clearly, He drove the wheel(s) off that Xr4ti.

time for a copy/pasta from fb....

Our issues were: Brake line hit with rock and came loose; Front control arm adjuster nut cracked and we threaded it in and adjusted the other end out to make up for it; rock damage to tailshaft (driveshaft) and diff pinion yoke resulted in loose u-joint; melted one of our two SPAL cooling fans and fought with the other a bit. Some ECU frustrations as well. Otherwise great event.

What happened to Will Orders??

Day 1, what I overheard was a broken control arm and later a broken driveshaft when they went back in time-only after replacing the control arm.

Day 2, "overheating" is what Toni (the co-driver) told me.

Did Jamie and Gary get married?

yes

How did Adam and Britta rack up 14+ minutes in penalties?

Mostly by using the seconds instead of the minutes to calculate their In time for the Sat MTC In.

There seems to be some confusion on the winner of the power stage. Was it Dave or Derick?

What a great time. FWD was a truly baffling experience, I have a ton of new respect for those who can do it. Blew it saturday on stage 2 ever so slightly stuck in a ditch we got popped out only to find we had killed a half shaft. Big thanks to Barrett who stayed up late and gotit fixxed (service with a smile!) Got through sunday without messing up too bad. Thanks Gene and everone who made it happen. We were giggling the whole way

Just wanted to say thanks for your work there, Alan. I've been part of the Gibeault scoring team for years and have been a relay, done timecard checking, and have done the data entry. It can definitely get tricky, especially when dealing with unfamiliar software while under pressure.

I went straight, thinking the Right 3 was up ahead.

This seems to be a reoccuring theme in posts referring to this situation...

What co-drivers were letting their drivers think for themselves? Recipe for disaster I tell ya! hot smiley

Also, does nobody use a rally computer anymore? If the route book had the corner marked, it'd have a distance, which would show on the rally computer, which should have your co-driver bopping you guys in the head with the routebook if you weren't listening spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Either the scoring program shit the bed, there's some data entry issues, or there was something really messed up that caused a ton of penalties. Most of the big penalties going away... some look legit.

Hopefully we'll see some news soon. (twitter seems dead too)

Yeah, that is what happens when the person entering the scores is also the person doing the FB/Twitter updates.

We put out a call in a few different places for additional scoring assistance at the beginning of the week and before the rally. I had a few people asking about volunteer opportunities after worker registration closed and I told them that I was looking for help with scoring. Guess people just want to work on stage. At least one of my recce volunteers from Olympus was able to come out and help me with scoring on Sunday.

As I noted on FB, as Chief of Scoring, I take responsibility for the scoring delays. I came up with all sorts of idea for how I could have done things better on the drive home.

It's comments like that that make me wonder how much rally experience a poster has.

Very few people use the odo on stage when they have notes.

Here's a great picture of Dave Hintz understeering around a corner in his M3:

Here's another video of Dave struggling to get the car to turn:

video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Pe6osZu5WMM

Blew a power steering hose on Saturday. Skipped the 3rd stage (which got thrown out anyway) and got it fixed in time to send them out for the last 3 stages. Finished 7th overall according to the final results.

On Sunday all was well until the middle of the second stage when something let go in the rear end and it lost drive.

In the "shutting the barn door after the cows have left" category, given sufficient lead time I probably would have been willing to fly up and help out had I known you were shorthanded there. I can't work PNW events on a regular basis, but I've worked about one a year for the last seven years.

Never was much a fan of Van Way. I've seen him drive and sort of filed him in the "mediocre driver, big budget" category. Lost more respect for him after seeing him in a meltdown at an event a few years ago. He seems to've done pretty well in the two stages he made it through though. I'm wondering how he rolled.

I wouldn't want to have been Goodwin's co-driver when they passed the car that Goodwin rented to Van Way rolled on stage.

On Sunday, Van Way was 1st on stage 9 and 2nd on stage 8, 10, 11 (tied with Derik) & 12. Too bad he had a some kind of incident on stage 7.

Is this the first time he has competitively run an AWD car?

I'd hazard to guess Adam has a reasonable amount of experience with notes, particularly 'write your own' notes, not Jemba with spoon fed distances for each line.

I use an odo on stage
If I can, I use an odo on recce. (If even a smart phone app)

I hate using three syllable words in my notes but 'deceptive' is one I'll gladly use. (I've heard some replace it with tricky to get down to two syllables, but I think that is different)
