This is totally usable in US rally right? It seems to meet all the requirements. I just haven't seen such an inexpensive setup over here yet.

The helmet is READY to have a communications set installed, it doesn't come with one.
http://www.ompracing.it/detail.html?productcode=SC761E This is the correct helmet, the "Jet-10". You'd also need an intercom that hooks up to the helmet, but it appears you can get adapters to work with peltor: http://ybracing.com/omp-ja852-ebayad01-ja852-omp-nexus-adaptor-cable-omp-helmet-and-stilo-box.html So, you could use what you listed, but add at least $100 on top of that. At that point, you are getting pretty close to Peltor/Stilo prices and club sport hans bought in America. |

Erm... Peltor G79 from Sube Sports is $750. Hans is ~ $600 Since when is 750+600 "pretty close" to 950? ![]() ![]() http://www.utahrallygroup.com |

First, that helmet is probably more comparable to a G-Force or similar than a Peltor so if comparing to US prices you have to consider that.
The Stand 21 Hans is under $400 in the UK. The Hans Sport is like $450. So no, you are not missing anything, it is a good deal. Also plan on 5-10% customs fees after the fact. And the dollar amount listed may not be exactly what is charged since your bank will do the conversion so can vary, but usually around 1.67 right now. Grant Hughes |

Integral OMP earcup and intercom system with adjustable boom
It sure sounds like the intercom is already in there. Owner, Driver, Head Mechanic, and Janitor at Tower City Race Team, headquartered near L'Anse. Michigan. I think it is a typo. According to their own website, the Jet 7S helmet doesn't come with an intercom.

So, we are looking at $1350 total versus $950. First thing that comes to mind is how well does the OMP intercom work adapted to the Peltor? That's a big risk to take. Second, as was pointed out, there is no intercom in that kit. Is there a kit with the Jet-10? And how much is it? If you were to add an intercom to the original kit, add another $260 as per the website for the OMP headset. That $400 difference just became a $140 difference, and as Grant pointed out, may even be less than that after duty and such is factored in. So yea, "pretty close". |

I am not a fan of buying helmets from overseas. That shipping sucks to pay twice or three times if the helmet doesn't fit well. I prefer finding a local place. If you are using Terriblephone than you can adapt that into pretty much any helmet. I ran my first rally in a $150 G Force helmet with T-phone. It's still the most comfortable helmet I've owned, though my new $400 Bell fits nice but no intercom as I use it for road racing stuff. My $1000 Sparco was not comfortable, returned the new version of the same thing last year as it literally did not fit on my head.

So spent some more time looking around. Looks like for 738 plus shipping I can get a bell sport mag (a helmet I already have and love (need a second one for my navi/gf) with a sport hans all from OG racing. Not to shabby.
Just have to get the right com set to put in it. Dave |

I believe that's spelled "Terrible-phone" because of a fault in the amplifier circuit they never corrected. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Pacific Standard Time is 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time. |

You can order the Bell Mag Rally 1 with the intercom pre-installed in the US for $459, just nobody stocks them so you need to special order. I ordered mine through Pegasus, got it drop shipped for free and had it I think in about 2 weeks from ordering. The intercom was a nice fit/volume for me. For fitment I went in to the store and test fit a Bell Mag 4 and then they ordered the size to match. The HANS Sport II isn't terrible price, and you can usually find a tiny bit of a deal on them or at least get a free helmet bag or something. Looking at my receipts I paid $1034 shipped for my helmet + hans. They come pre-configured too, so you don't have to do any work at all with installing the posts. Edited 1 time(s).
