What happens if you are wrong, and they uphold your disqualification? Will you be as gracious in defeat? "Talk about drugs. Driving a car like that, going that fast, it’s like all the drugs at once." - Tommy Byrne "Now, Pinky, if by any chance you are captured during this mission, remember you are Gunther Heindriksen from Appenzell. You moved to Grindelwald to drive the cog train to Murren. Can you repeat that?" - The Brain |
Odds are I wouldn't be super gracious about it but I'd certainly post that the penalty was upheld. Rule book says bulletin must be posted to change the route book. it wasn't. route book said service. we serviced. so no I wouldn't say I'd be gracious if they keep the penalty but I'd be happy to post the results and discuss.

wasn't there a huge entry list for sandblast? seems like there should have been more teams who had the same issue |

You would think so..And if there WAS a long list of others that also all misunderstood and gassed up or did, like , what-evar---that should bolster the arguments that there was something UNCLEAR and that he shouldn't get whacked on his pee-pee for it... The fact that it was asked several times, and that it is obviously a "leading question" and would obviously help his argument and yet it has not been acknowledged at all makes me think I's knows the answer....whaddya stink? I guess my next question would be, was it a manditory meeting? If so, can penalties be added for missing a required meeting? May end up trading one set of penalties for another. |

Do you mean the NASA GCRs or the NRS one? Some close friends went to a rally really far away, 1000 or so miles one way. It was driver's second event and he was doing really well and kept getting reseeded higher. This is RA but there isn't any quick times. There isn't anything. No times, not even after the event. It wasn't until they got back that they even saw the times. Instead of being in 5-7th overall where they had been seeded during the entire weekend, there stage times showed them way down in like 25-30. Like stage times that would have had to have had them getting passed. They contacted a few people about the obvious error either in data entry or time card switch up or something. They got the run around for a few days and finally said fuck it, it's not important, we went and did what we set out to do. I don't know the whole story but this sounds like one of those unfortunate incidents that happens with a novice or recreational service crew. Here's another story. Fuel only stop, driver jumps out, hands his helmet to crew guy, toss this in back. Gets back in the car after fueling and heads to the next stage. I honestly considered renting him my helmet at the ATC so that he could continue rallying. His crew guy, who was like a brother in law or cousin or such, threw the helmet in the back. Of the service van. This was between stages one and two. The team had spent over $10k on the weekend, >$50k building a top spec Open Class car only to have it all fall apart because they chose to have a volunteer team running one of the most important functions of an entire event. Welcome to rally. ![]() Grant Hughes |
Guys whatever happens happens , at this point the win is ruined for us either way that's all there is to it. The rest of this is just following the appeal process for better or worse we'll know shortly. I have whatever rulebook it was still highlighted obviously and I'm sure I can post the stuff when I get home (out of state on vacation etc) and it's my understanding we'll have our answer any day now

So looks like the pro-level stuff takes time as well.
For those that do not follow F1: Race: last weekend, Red bull finishes second. Stewards say they didn't follow the rules to the letter. Red bull says they didn't cheat or gain an advantage. They file notification of appeal at the race. Appeal filed this week. Appeal hearing isn't until April 14th http://www.fia.com/international-court-appeal-hearing-april-14-2014 |
