If the CRS speed factors are anywhere near correct, you run about 85% of that speed, putting you around 1:20 slower. Of course it's all sort of handwavy, but yeah, you'd definitely come within 5 minutes. ![]() Self-righteous douche canoe |

You left off "Blah blah fucking MeConte is a blah blah fucking whiner " And Not bad---would go so far as saying captivating... not bad Blue Subie? who cares? National importer driver......yep and he aint bad...and a non-whiner might be curious as to why. Only a not-too-bright-fucking-whiner could take it as US roads are shit---- they ARE fast and simple. And you don't have to go to all the effort to TRAVEL to other parts of the world to se that...because that would be so much bother and then the person would be away from their keyboard and miss precious time talking shiit about people behind their backs and oh dear we can't miss out on that can we McConte? Yep that one and Gilhouley are a glimpse of what nice roads are like... Doing something is usually more fun than not doing anything Doing a lotta of something, like turning the wheel and ya'know driving, is usually a lot more fun. Shirley you ought to be able to ponder that and at least try to understand.. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! It's funny for me to watch this video because I only remember the bits of the stage when I look up from the notes! We didn't recce and were on the Jembas. For us OTR was an excellent example of why recce is so important.

FWIW, I read it as preemptive mockery of the trend of threads on this site to spiral down those paths, which was kinda funny. I didn't see it as mockery of an individual, which would be mean. If at least parts of that video didn't captivate you, or at least make you squirm in you seat a bit, you might want to place a mirror under your nose and see if it Foggs up at all. (Or pay a bit closer attention when you watch it.) Then again, I do enjoy watching in-car and paying attention to the details in the driving style and the notes (content, delivery, and driver retention of notes.) Others I speak with have asked "what's with those guys from around St Lois, they seem like OK gus but there's a snarky and behind the back element" I saw it as dissing this forum.... which while it has its faults , is better than anything else for the 'clubman" or "sorta normal" guy. As for in-car's in general....well that is one of those things that there's a sharp divide on... Those who may have been introduced to rally , or participated mostly as a game-player, spectator, wankie wanker whatever seem to like what they are used to: WATCHING A RIBBON OF ROAD SQUIRM AROUND IN FRONT OF THEIR NOSES... iT SEEM THOSE OF A CERTAIN AGE, AND THOSE OF A CERTAIN EXPEROENCE, THEY WANT TO SEE THE car and what the driver makes the CAR do---since ultimately we think about DRIVING cars, not watching others do it... Its the age old "identification vs adulation divide... Nice stage though... I just wish we had more like that and more often. I am sure similar has been said about most of us at one point in time or another. Snark sneaks out of all of us from time to time. Maybe so, but a good, strong community - and online forums are essentially virtual communities - can easily survive snarkiness, mocking and dissing quite easily... might even make the community stronger.
Interesting take on the situation. The 'cage' angle for incar is invaluable when it comes to seeing how drivers drive and with good audio the same could be said about how the notes help them and how the co-driver delivers the notes and manages the information. There is TONS of good learning to be had from this type of clip from good drivers. (Lots of learning to be done by watching this angle of your own driving as well... HUGE learning to be had at any level of the sport by honest self reflection on performance) Agreed.
