rally tire options

It's been a while since I've bought new tires. Does anyone know where to find 14" gravel? Justin, are you still selling DMacks, got any 14's?

Rocky Mountain Autosports sells Black Rocket's in 14". They're retreads re-moulds made in Finland.

In the tire business they're called "re-moulds" as in "bead to bead remould"...
The term "re-tread" implies what is also known as a 're-cap" just the wear surface capped by a new tread..

Just saying...

Thanks guys. For a 125 a tire, I think I'll give 'em a try.

I have a set of the medium compounds. 2 and half days of rally and they've held up well. I hope to get a few more events out of them.

Sean, I ran BRs at STPR. If you want to checkout the wear stop down sometime. Grip seemed less, but it was a new car, with stock rear suspension; so i'm not sure how much the tires played into that.

Not sure if I should blame BR or my driving but. I started our rally with old wore out perrelli tires I switched to new BR at our first service. I slid off the road and rolled my car at the first tight corner I came to with BR. Being a racer theres no way it was my fault!

They did have good faward drive but horrible side bight. To me an old set of wore out pirreli out performed the BR that day! I ran them again at ojib rally and posted my slowest speed factor to date. They will now hold down my tent in service.

They say they are a really good rallycross tire. May work good for a 2wd car that is looking for forward bite. But not a fat heavy turbo car.

if you go 15's theres lotsa quality pull offs available, i'm going d macks for my 14's and if i can find some 13 inch rims that clear integra brakes thats getting happening as well also, final drive options without the pesky transmission swap. do you run b series in the crx?

I think Dmacks and Black Rocket are the only semi-regular-stock 14s in the US anymore. I know the Tabors got some 14s in their last shipment of Silverstones, but that was 2 years ago now?

I did hear from somebody that brought in 2 full sets of maxsports from demon-tweeks or similar that shipping/customs wasn't too heinous, but still expensive enough that any of their dirt-cheap options still come out in the same ballpark as the BRs from the Rocky Mountain guys.

Kind of disappointed that Maxxis is choosing not to bring any of the 14s they're already making (as in, you can buy them from demon tweeks, but Maxxis USA seems to think they don't exist).

I keep thinking about bringing a few pallets of 14" and 16" gravel tires from the UK just to fill that gap. Maxxis isn't interested in dealers, nor is Dmack. Don't really have the capital or storage space to bring container loads of tires in though.

dmacks up here are 217.95 per tire to your door step. for a performance tire thats a solid deal especially with compound options.
In a perfect world with no duty and brokerage fees we could put together a group buy because a pallette of tires has gotta be cheaper, how much is the question??

Dmack ofcourse still offers the 14", in a couple different sizes and compounds...but you knew that

Justin is still offering them, but as others mentioned should be in the middle of relocating. May well take a while to sort things out, but it's not exactly gravel tire season now anyways!
