THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Since those are both of the links in the first post, I think that's probably an official announcement.

Unfortunate. sad smiley

Since nothing good could come from full disclosure of the details surrounding this I'd rather not elude to that at this time. I will say this, there is no room for new organizers or people who think outside of the box in rally. Your time, money and reputation will suffer a heavy price and in the end you will only hurt the people you are trying to help. You can take that to the bank from someone who tried.

Sorry to hear than nothing has changed in the last 30 years....so much egos and so much rigidity and its only gotten worse.

That is true Anders. The plug was pulled yesterday. I fully apologize to everyone who put their faith, time and effort into helping me make this event happen. To the teams that put all their time and money into preparing their cars and to the Marker family that was so excited for this event. In the eyes of a few: I took on the man and the man won...

Thank you to Tino for so quickly organizing a replacement event to help the teams who worked so hard to prepare their cars for nothing.

Is the problem usra related? If so have you looked into using NRS's rally sprint in a box?

For the betterment of the sport, I hope the facts eventually come out. This BS and infighting (or whatever you want to call it) has got to stop. Why would anyone want to put them selves thru this. "The beatings will continue until moral improves".

I completely agree Don. This has led to a lot of fighting within the sport and that is not and never was the intent of this event. As I have stated, at this time I can not elaborate further on the circumstances and assume full responsibility for this.

I hope this will be a learning experience for everyone, I know it was for myself and the others who worked so hard to make this happen. As a sport, people need to support the efforts of those like us who try to bring new venues, events or ideas to rally and also to the established groups who continue to organize the events we run.

Organizing an event is a huge undertaking especially something from the ground up as we were trying. I read a posting from Nate Tennis that really hit home, " Competitors and fans of the sport need to be more involved in supporting & helping event organizer rather than waiting & expecting events to magically happen." That is true and additionally established events need to look at new events as good for the sport and not as a threat, helping each other and helping rally grow is the answer to a brighter future.
