Indy Sport Gravel Tires - Rallycross and Mud Specific Tires!
April 20, 2015 10:42PM
In our quest to find new, unique and exciting rally products to the US market we are now the official importer of Indy Sport tires out of Germany. They are the number one retread company in the world and have been in business since the 80s and were one of the official suppliers for WRC during the Group B days.
The really exciting product they offer is the SG rallycross specific tire. Available in 13-15" diameters and only in a soft compound this tire is made for performance from the very start one a variety of surfaces. Our shop rallycross car is a 95 Impreza with a 2.2L that smokes like crazy that we bought for $500. Our first event on Hankook tires we finished 10th in Mod4 and 30th overall. This past Saturday we showed up with the 185/65R15 Indy Sport SG tire mounted and our driver finished 2nd overall and in M4! The tires performed better than we could have hoped for!
We currently have very limited stock and it takes 2-4 weeks for delivery so plan accordingly.
$10 per tire shipping in continental US.

There are four different tires available. SG is the rallycross specific tire, BR is a rally/rallycross mud specific tire (hey PNW guys!), FA is a directional rally tire only available in 185/65R15 that we will be testing on an Open Light car on gravel stages in a few weeks, and the F is a more traditional gravel rally tire. Sizes and pricing on our site.

FA - directional rally tire

SG - Rallycross in soft compound!

Our first order of tires arrived at the end of March

After five rallycross runs on the SG

Those SGs look a lot like Silverstone muds.

That's also what my "hard" Black Rockets looked like after two drivers used them at Nationals and then a single driver used them at one rallycross, in a 230hp 2WD. Betcha I could melt the SGs in a single event smiling smiley (but damn I bet it would be GLORIOUS)

Possibly I made changes to the intake setup over the winter, now my VE table goes into the low 130s instead of 102-103, and it feels stronger than an angry gorilla...

Before the powerband felt really broad. Now the thing comes on really strong after 6k. Gut says that the car is high 12s in the quarter mile now, given experience with turbo Buicks, but my gut has also been known to be optimistic. Best previously was around 13.7 at 103ish.

Anyway, I just may be buyin' a set of the muds.

My VR6 is drooling. I'm currently running 195 takeoffs. 185's would be great!

Prices ate 140-170 per tire. All info on http://rally.build if interested. No stage yet on these. We will be testing the FA tire at gravel hill climb (basically 3 mile stage run 5-6 times) in a few weeks.

Oh come on early entry at Oregon Trail was ONLY $2200....

Think of all the benefits you get entering the National though..

If you can't afford a mere $2200 then you're just not serious enough...

i will not spend that kind of cash on an entry fee
unless it's a week long event, where meals and hotel rooms are provided

i may go back to chasing my tail on a road course or hill climbs
