What wheels do you run on your stage rally car and why?

Did you select the best, the cheapest, free?

They came with the car?

Nobody else would supply them in pink?

i have no budget so cheap to free
i chose my car for many reasons but one was the ability of inexpensive wheels in the right offset

that said i would love to have a set or more of braid wheels, but its a matter of wheels or events

Original Audi speedlines can be had for anywhere from 50-200 a set, look nice and are tough.

Saab OEM "Soccerball" --heat treated, and among the strongest I have ever seen
Cost from free to $25 VERY GOOD

No1 preferred: Minilites supplied by Saab....4 for $75 and another 6 for $100 second hand

Strongest wheel ever.

Nope, 4" steelies just too weak

Not an issue----spray cans cures those problems

Nope so no need for excessive wheels and a wheel costing 10 times what can be found is pure gilding of the lily

I ran Compomotives but that was because I picked up a set used from Four Star for a good deal and they looked okay.

What I typically consider is no particular order is price, strength, and cosmetics.

You won't see me run a Team Dynamics ever. We have piles and piles of bent ones at Checkpoint, we welded one for a customer back in February before 100AW after he cracked it trying to massage some bend out of it, and I just personally think they are hideous.

Some of the wheels are just too expensive or too hideous. I also tend to lean away from Chinese products of that nature if I can.

Braid wheels are on two of our three rally wheels. We also started importing Evo Corse wheels based on price, strength (European rallying mostly, steel inserts standard), and style. Those are the only two companies we would consider selling. Both are made in Europe (Spain/Italy), decent design/style, and decent price point.

Compomotive seems to be struggling getting back on their feet and have limited production it seems and no US distribution. There wheels were always fine.
We've ran some other gravel wheels, Enkei, Speedlines and they've been fine.
I really dislike the look of the new Method wheels. Pretty sure they are probably just another Chinese wheel. They'll probably do great with the buffoon hoon pretender crowd.
