Nobody gets it because it isn't a blue Subaru. The Breeze isn't cheap enough yet despite it being a blue Subaru. |

well i get it... so there is a mindset of people out there that says, why should i get into a car that i don't like (which yes they make up their minds because someone cool is driving a subaru) also in the case of a few of my friends i have told about rally is they don't want to spend the money twice, they want to just spend it all on the car that the pro's have so they can immediately be winning. Birds of a feather flock together? So here is an example that you will either get or you won't why are their so many 240sx's in drifting because there are a lot of parts available and they have been drifted since the beginning. why are their so many subaru's in drifting because there are a lot of parts available, there are contingencies from subaru, and have been rallying since before most of us wipper snappers could wipe our own butts people tend to make things "seem" the best when they weigh a lot of things in its favor. Like ooo i like the way it looks, oooo it sounds grumbly, ooo all my friends like it, oooo ooo ooo and then everyone gets lost I am not an alien Koolaid on specialstage just an FYI |

I heard something about a guy in Canada who took a Production Swift+ to a podium finish and several 'just off' the podium finishes against many Open AWD cars... and I don't think you can call a production Swift+ a well done car. (but what do I know, maybe it was a homologation special) The main take-away I get from this is the driver makes more difference than the results and only when you get drivers of near equal ability does the car really start factoring into things. The next take-away is that you need seat time and instruction to become the 'better' driver, so develop a plan that allows you to be driving in competition as much as possible. The next-er take-away is that the sport is about having fun, so compete in what 'floats your boat' and still allows you to get out and compete regularly. Back to the awesome drive by Patton... do the ex-spurts here think he'd have been any slower in a FWD or AWD car?
Why do you keep coming back here when you have such obvious contempt for everyone. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/14/2015 02:55PM by ALS FTW. |
Euro, Pounds, it's all the same funny money.

Awww shit y'all are so convince this is some anti-block thing. Here proof of my earnest feelings for Pooor Ken in light of his inabilty after spending all that to beat an old 40 year old carbureted little 1600

I think maybe you need to learn an awful lot of things. Including top not attributing intention to others.. You had a good series of questions and I was going suggest you call on the phone and I could try and answer them and then we could chat and you could HEAR tone---rather than sitting up there and deciding I have "obvious contempt" for "everybody". I have OBVIOUS FRUSTRATION at seeing an ever declining entries, ever declining involvement in the sport, ever increasing consumerist mentality in every aspect of the approach and execution of the sport, and people just writing in a "tweet' or "facebook" mode. But I don't know...You need so much education (See Suzuli GTI above--fuck me-- ) and it is clear you prefer to argue--and try and "score points " and "prove" something.. You want to try dialog? No skin off my nose... And you might learn something--- John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! It is true. John should not be allowed to post on the internets at all because as much as he preaches about reading comprehension, there is no one that seems to be able to read what he writes the way he thinks it should be read. Seriously. Call him on the phone ---sweet as a kitten ---giggly like a school girl --- excited like a 15 year old boy --- and lots of experience & good ideas on offer. ____________________________________________________________- One. That was probably Petey K if it was recent... The car was not production in any way, but it was a Swift, and um... This is what it sounded like. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Nobody "didn't lift" like Pete did in the swift... Dan Sprongle ran the Swifts a bit (Four star tried to get a good spec class going with them, and built a bunch), in fact my first rally was against Dan, and um, I lost miserably... Those cars are still out there, a few anyway. They worked pretty good... |

I'm the first to admit I have a lot of things to learn about rally. So much so that I need to spend more time at events, talking to people active in the sport, and seeing what is actually happening out there. I might hop on the bike and make the 11hr ride to Olympus tomorrow. Will you be hanging around the service park John? Face to face is sooooo much better. My bad, it just seems you're quick to complain about people and to call them stupid or criticize what they do. To me, it comes off contemptuous rather than frustrated... but that's what you get in typal forum-ese. What you and Mad Matt said made me take a look for results. What I found was: http://rallyscoring.com/results/2006/PerceNeige/index.htm and http://rallyscoring.com/results/2006/PerceNeige/Perce2006FiaProgr0EC_10.htm so sprongle/sprongle 3rd overall in a P2 Swift+ 04... ahead of nickle in a Gr2 Golf. http://rallyscoring.com/results/2006/TallPines/TallPines2006FiaProgr0FTC_B4.htm 5th overall, seconds out of 4th I think you might be attributing intention to others when you say that. (more likely projection, which combines so well with compartmentalizaton) If i make the trip, I'll look for you at Olympus. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/15/2015 11:19AM by ALS FTW. |

If anyone wants a gr4 escort built i might know someone that knows someone. Same guys that build most of the gr4fab stuff. As a matter of fact, a couple of famous Fin's got theirs built there.
You are on your own with motor and gearbox however... rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!! |
