Alright, I did a bunch of thinking last night and found a Neon ACR, for a decent price. I know people have rallied these and I rallycrossed one last year and loved it. I think this might be the way to go. The ACR has a better ratio transmission, I can find a lsd fairly cheap, quick ratio steering, and rear disc brakes, also if I really wanted I could probably SRT 4 swap it, or 2.4l swap (way down the road if ever) and parts are everywhere for these.

I have an 07 Yaris 2dr hatchback as a beater car. I would NEVER put that thing on stage. NEVAAHHH. Everything on that POS is made to be light and economical. The body is all "snapped" together, suspension is incredibly weak looking, motor mounts wont survive a hard shift. Rear beam is tiny compared to the VW's. Ball joints are like tooth picks, and the brakes are hmmm well good enough for commuting. The steering is an electric column, so yaaay on that!

As mentioned above, TAG rally team doesnt seem to bend the car much, because hitting ruts sideways at 45mph is a lot less energy than hitting them at 65+mph.

Simple physics: Kinetic Energy E=1/2mv^2. Energy goes up exponentially as speed goes up.

Anyways, same goes to all cars but the Yaris for as much as I like it being that I get 40+mpg out of it, its not really suitable for anything more than "Bspec" speeds!

Alright, sorry to keep changing things, but I may have found a CRX with a roll cage and extra engine. So I'll just stop posting stuff because it's probably annoying. Hahaha

That sounds way less fun than my 03 Golf TDI. Which is pretty unfun though it looks nice with the EvoCorse 17" tarmac rally wheels.

The Scion XD ACP/Duplesis was running is not a whole lot different than a Yaris, in fact pretty sure they share the same platform. Im not suggesting you build one but would talk to ACP first!

rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!!

Oh Yeah, ACP has "done it all" andf says "FWD IS THE BEST"....I'd love to hear about all his RWD experience again...Its been10-12 years and all i recall from that loong phone call was "Oh I did a couple of road rallies in a Volvo Amazon when i was at Oxford (or Cambridge)"

But yeah Zack, call ACP up, talk budgets, what it cost--and what it cost him...I'm sure it was fun while it lasted.eye rolling smiley

Do any of the Yarii in NA actually get driven hard? Not to sound rude, but a slower car will not break very many parts.
I have no idea what the suspension looks like, or what the drivetrain is capable of, so I can't really make a judgement call on that.

I believe Robert checked the tag car out and I believe he said it was pretty much bone stock. this was a couple years ago though.

There is a Yaris up here in Canada that runs, main thing I saw with it is low ground clearance and low power.

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

Yeah, I'm kind of leaning towards a CRX or Neon.

No ill will intended, but I'm reasonably sure - even from my limited exposure - that while APC may not have 'done it all,' he's certainly done more than you, and done what he has, more successfully. (Aren't you quick to proclaim you've only ever rallied a FWD car?)

I thought APC was now a professional driver, so he likely does a lot more driving than we hear about. (I heard rumours were he was Stig's American Cousin)

Even so... a RWD car won the 2wd classes at Radium last weekend, 2:18 ahead of some stranger danger, so I guess they can be winners. (if you ignore the Golf that was 3 minutes ahead going into the last stage, 0.6 sec out of the overall lead)

Look bub, keep dreaming.
he was a lawyer
A lawyer in NYC entertainment world.

Do you need explaining what that means?

A "professional' driver in made-for-tv extravaganzas are not what i consider "professionals".

They are 'actors".

Stop insulting me.
