Opinions needed early 90's Eclipse GSX

I don't have any pictures of her but I pass by often.
What is your opinion on this car for a first build ?

Heavy. Except turbo, underpowered.
Very cramped interior
poor outward visibility---and seeing the coming corners is kinda important
marginal to poor brakes.
Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide ratio gearbox
sky high "MPG" final drive.

No alternate fun bits for the gearbox..

Car is a street car for hairdressers in SoCal...

Did I mention heavy?

threw mine away, fun when it was running. But as a wise man told me, you never own just one DSM, only one runs but you'll need 3 for spares....

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

Just ran a previously built one in our first rally. They are different to work on and ours is a former gsx with a non turbo motor. There is a lot of noise and very little motivation under the hood. Ours handles awesome...at our speed but it also came already with rally suspension. In loose stuff the traction feels as solid as a truck. The cabin space is tight. I'm 6'2 and built like a lumberjack but found the visibility not really a problem but again it was our first rally so what do I know.

Considering the cost of cages I am willing to play with it as long as I can but due to a lack of parts( I am already shopping for entire parts cars to stack in the woods out back) I am betting three years or six rallies.

Buy a prepped car that is current and you can find parts for in my opinion. I can't imagine trying to shoehorn a rally cage in these cars from scratch.

Don't know your price range and seems cars are expensive there..

Replaced the spark plug and wires (18/05/2015)

my head brushed the roof in one without a helmet on or a rollcage in the car

Took a quick pic of the car today.

All this discussion and it's not even the car you think it is. That's not a Mitsubishi, it's a Dodge Daytona, possibly a Shelby, judging by the spoiler. Not a bad rally car in it's own right, though the Omni with longer wheelbase and less overhang was a better handling car.

Well if that's the case.. how much would you offer for this car in this condition ?
I was thinking around $250
