Check this out, my Omni rally video

I put my Omni rally music video up on YouTube. I made this years ago. I don't know why the quality is so bad but oh well, you get the point. This is the father of the red car you see John Lane flying through the air in the upper left corner here occaisionally.



Which brings us to this. This is one of the related videos to the video above. I don't know who this guy is but the only thing of interest is the photo at about 42 seconds...

That's a great... "controled 360 slide" at 1:52 !

Did you pull the e-brake and think you were Jim Rockford ?

Were you wearing a striped long sleeve shirt and a pair of welding gloves? looked like fun

I wouldn't call it controlled...That was at the end of the Capitol Freeway stage. Right around the corner from the bridge was the flying finish. That was the second time through the stage snd I decided to cut the corner (just out of sight as I'm entering the view of the camera.) Well that wasn't such a good idea at 80mph as it was all washed out and pot holey and it unweighted the car and the back end came around. Nothing to do but to hang on and hope for the best. I remember thinking, "Boy, I hope we don't go over the bridge backwards... Boy I hope we don't crash into those rocks... Gee, this is sure taking a long time... Alright, we're pointing the right way, 1st gear, damn that's 3rd, OK, 1st gear, here we go!" My codriver and I were high-fiving going across the flying finish saying, "I hope somebody had a video camera there." Obviously they did.

Well, the video quality is pretty bad for some reason, I don't know why it lost so much uploading it to YouTube, but that's my old driviing suit and a pair of OMP rally gloves.

The in car footage was from the 1991 Rocky Mountain Rally, Jumping Pound Loop stage. I finished 3rd overall on that stage both times through behind Frank Sprongl and Jeff Zwart. 5th overall, 1st PGT. It was really, really muddy. One of the service areas for Rocky was up there last year.

Love the video....That was a fun looking spin Check out the "Worst rally corner" video in the list to the right...Really scary
