Wait weren't we all assured that nobody wants to see an old rusty Xratty?

And with Ian Topping---despite some problems----doing best regional 2wd times and consistently 2nd best overall 2wd times on Day 2 at LSPR...in a 240 VOLVO!!!

I guess the cars are doing exactly what some guy who doesn't know anything and never did anything has said they can and should do..

Odd.

Got a easy link to results?
Vids?
Interviews?
Speeces?

Don't know about the one at PFR, but on Toppings I hear the green strut pull out of the knuckle. The struts that were in before the 'spares' went in were 'tired'... i'm told.

The photo I saw---not very clear---it SEEMED that the insert pulled out---bottom tube still attached..
Whatever the case its doubtless a service oversight---somebody left something loose---since the design has worked for I dunno 5 years now.

And from what I saw somebody has elected to paint them black..

Isn't "what I hear" interesting? And like most of what we hear--mostly---wrong..

But why refrain from repeating stuff we "hear"?
What fun is that?

EDIT
Well, well, whafdday know..Seems Morison heard wrong but couldn't bother to spare 3 seconds searching.

Doesn't look too green.. Looks like Hotbitch and doesn't look pulled out..
Looks just like they usually look.

Oh sigh.

That was probably the day 1 strut failure.
I heard the day 2 strut failure was sourced from 'Washington.'

Who did I hear it from? One of the crew guys for the team.

"The Friday failures were struts past their sell by date which disassembled themselves spectacularly, the Saturday failure was a mechanical issue, the strut body separated from the knuckle."

Whatever Morison---could it be that they didn't tighten the pinch bolts?
Evidently the Passenger side was Day 1---the not-so-Hotbitch

Sounds odd that there would be a Hotbitch on one side and then something else on the other side on day 2.

Doubt they'd say "Wow did we fuck up somehow---and left the things loose."

No must be somebody elses' fault..
Odd that its worked for years previously.

Wot da fuq

We think the inset got bent and they kept on rallying. The stages were incredibly rough (so I'm told) It eventually ripped the insert apart.

OOOooops!

Wonder why they don't have any spares?
I always stress to folks that the whole idea of replacable struts for the old school car is so you can like...

replace them.
Which means 1 spare will do for both sides...

Only 1 person out of hundreds has ever ordered a spare in advance..
Odd.
