My first Ford was a '63 Cortina 1200. Engine was rebuilt by a friend on the garage floor of an Army workshop in Tidworth, England.

My second Ford was a '71 Escort Mexico, white with black stripes, bought in Germany when I sold my VW Combi. Took it to N.Ireland, kept it for 2 yrs and part exchanged it for a brand new Vauxhall Chevette HS2300, tax free to take to Germany. The big ends had started to rattle! Two great cars when they performed properly. Wonder what it would be worth today?

It would seem like even my first Mk1 1100cc 2 door Escort is an expensive thing nowadays, I gave it away, then I gave the Mk2 1600 away, but I did sell my Mk1 1500 GT 'Tina.....for £150! I just added up their values today, and cried a little.
